North Shore Agency has contacted me about a debt collection on a magazine subscription that I never signed up for. They claim the creditor is "HARPERS MAGAZINE", provided some account numbers, and said I owed $12.97. I tried calling them on the phone number provided on the letter, waited on hold for several minutes, before the call was dropped on the other end. I am concerned that I may be the target of a scam.

This credit agency, North Shore agency has been sending me threatening letters regarding product that I never ordered from Crepe Erase. When I received the product, I called them because I needed to return it. They were charging me $317.62. They said the only way I could return it is if they sent me a label via snail mail. When I got the label, I have fixed it to the box and returned it. I have documentation. This company Crepe Erase uses illegal marketing tactics. Without a customer knowing they set you up for a subscription service. When I saw that immediately, I called them and told them I have not subscribed to anything. They sent me the product anyway. I returned the product and owe them nothing but they keep sending me these threatening letters and there's no one at either of the phone numbers on this letter that will talk with you. It's simply not an option.

My elderly mother continues to receive letters from North Shore Agency saying they are a debt collection agency and she owes a certain dollar amount for (they don't list what was supposedly bought). The creditor is listed as Publishers Clearing House. Attempts were made to call the agency and find out what the charges were for and every time a call was made it went to an automated message and then hung up. The Creditor Account # is always the same but every letter my mother receives, her account # is always different. I am concerned that this is a scam but I/she doesn't want to have problems with creditors or debt collection agencies. Can you advise if this company listed as being at ****************************************************** is legitimate? We are unable to verify what she possibly has bought and if these statements actually need to be paid. We are unable to reach anyone by phone to speak to them. Thanks!

North Shore Agency and SRA are attempting to collect a debt from a minor which is in direct violation of FDPCA. The agency has attempted to contact my 12 yr old son with incomplete spelling of his full name via a letter about some magazine. Upon reaching out to them their number included on the letter rings for approx 7 minutes then hangs up on you. When contacting *****, director of operations at SRA, she decided to change the address "so I wouldnt receive communications anymore". That does nothing to the debt... but due to her unwillingness to speak with me (she hung up on me multiple times and even blocled one of my phone numbers, how *********************, are you 8?), I have no debt verification, or access to the status of the collection. One of the rudest and most unprofessionally scam artists I've ever talked to, especially considering they are in direct violation of FDPCA.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The ease with which SRAs employees lie is impressive, but I expected more integrity from their compliance officer than to falsify records. The fact that ************** has misrepresented our interactions and falsified statements is simply unacceptable! I communicated with SRA employees, answering all of the identity verification questions asked of me including but not limited to, my zipcode, the account number, the account name (that provides triangulation, acceptable verification by most standards) and advised that the individual you were trying to reach is a minor and SRA representatives would not be permitted to speak with them but could address me as his guardian. SRA associates requested my name to which she was informed of the same thing Ill inform you of: You do not need my information! Because honestly, I trust SRA with my information as much as I trust a Nigerian Prince with my bank account information so, NO! I am not Identifying myself to some halfwit phone jockey thats going to sell my data to next scumbag highest bidder (youre familiar with being among the parasitic leaches patiently waiting to suckle the teet of a rotten w**** whos giving it away, after all, its how SRA acquires their accounts, right?).
We should really focus on the dishonesty though and the main reason for not resolving this issue. SRAs director of operations, *****, advised they sent the bill to the wrong address, you are advising that you did in-fact try to collect a debt from a minor, attempting to contact them directly. Which is it? I mean ***** boy, I appreciate you cancelling the account but why lie? If youre telling the truth, then SRA violated FDCPA and should clearly have fines imposed and have an upstanding compliance officer that self-reports to the proper agency. If ***** was telling the truth, then you do not value your consumers data as much as you state in your last BBB communication since you sent me someone elses financial information, seems like youd be liable for a breach of some sort there, right *** ********** officer? And before you try to lie more, lets remember that I advised your associates that they were speaking with someone in a single party state, you know what that is, right? It means I have audio recordings verifying everything stated here and your dishonest practices.
While we are on the topic of falsifying records, would you like to correct your statement about receiving a request from S**** ****n? I never once identified, nor signed the signature line of that email identifying myself, (see my earlier statement about how much I trust SRAs integritydo you really think I would have identified myself) so that is blatant falsifying of records. Records that you reported and attested to as true now Im not sure what kind of penalties should be imposed here since you willingly did so to a govt entity, but Im sure we can get someone to look into it.
What you could have stated is that you received communication from the email address ******************* but to falsely misrepresent that Identified myself in such communication is simply wrong and an inaccurate assumption you interjected into the narrative. Please dont do that!
In closing, I appreciate the cancelation of the fraudulent claim you were trying to collect from a minor, especially since such activities are ILLEGAL. However, I still see your industry as the lowest form of life that refuse to do any real work but rather licks crumbs from the boots of those who are productive members of society. I really hope one day SRA can find some form of integrity, discover what honesty is, and fire that b**** *****. You really need some sort of policy in place for when you f*** up this bad, but I wouldnt expect anyone at this company to have that much intelligence.
      ***** boy,
I would wish you well, but that would be a lie
      - *see honesty, its not that hard. Ya ought to try it sometime*.

In order for the BBB to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

      Have the day you deserve,
