      Hi I went to synegry fitness in ******* on ******* **** ******* ** ***** I froze my membership back in February and caned in March. I sent 3 letters called many times but no one answered. **** a certified letter as they requested. They claim they never received it when I went in today. Because I got a letter last week from debt collections claiming I owe the gym $100. I had zero balance owed on my account and canceled my membership and they are telling me I have to pay it. I have a voice recording of me going in. I had a terrible experience with them. I can't afford to pay that and don't want it to affect my credit meanwhile I literally cancled and they are trying to fish money out of me. There are many many complains on ****** as well as the BBB website itself on that gym and how they keep pulling this scam on everyone. Please please get back to me asap like I said I do not want my credit to tank because of this. Please give me a shout thank you so much. -*****************************.

      Synergy billed me for an annual fee and a monthly gym membership, for several months after I canceled the service. I brought the matter to their attention and the promised to refund the money. They did not refund the money and every time I would follow-up, they would string me along. The total amount that they owe me is about $350.

      I tried to cancel my gym membership through the process they described over the phone when I called to try and cancel. I sent a letter in stating to cancel my account as they requested, two times in fact. They continued to bill me. I called and they told me to repeat the process and they could not cancel over the phone. I have mailed two letters which they have not received. I had to cancel with my credit card company. If you look at their reviews on ****** and yelp many people have this same issue. I wish for my membership to be permanently canceled and all my billing information and address to removed from their system. Attached is the 3rd letter I am sending. Certified mail with receipt.

      I have been trying for two months to unsuccessfully to cancel my membership with synergy fitness of Franklin ******* As per management at the gym they request I put in writing my request for cancellation and send it to West Park fitness Corp. by certified mail, which I have done. They have repeatedly and continue to charge my credit card for monthly membership. Attempts to reach management again unsuccessful. DBA West Park fitness. No phone number no address no contact information. these are now considered unauthorized and fraudulent charges. I have complied with their cancellation policy yet they refuse to cancel my membership. As per the reviews on the Better Business Bureau website, ****** yelp and all the others out there, There are several hundred complaints about West Park fitness DBA synergy fitness, refusing to cancel memberships and keeping peoples monies. This, then results in many people being sent to collections Ruining, hard-working peoples credit on behalf of this organization because this company refuses to cancel memberships.This is criminal, fraudulent, and illegal. I have already disputed the current and past charges with this merchant and I want them to cancel my membership discontinuing them to authorize a reoccurring charge.

      I froze my membership at Synergy fitness on 7/13/21 after feeling uncomfortable with their lack of cleanliness, and *** Covid protocols. The account was frozen while I attempted to cancel the account. I was told to mail a letter to cancel and provided an address. I mailed the letter requesting cancelation, months later was told it was not accepted and I needed to send certified mail, I then sent certified letter, months later was told I needed to provide proof I sent certified and told the woman on the phone I received a green receipt but no longer had it since it was mailed months prior. I sent one more letter and months went by until I was called again this time continuously harassing me for money. I tried explaining I sent at that point three letters (one certified) to the confirmed address to cancel and they were refusing to accept my cancellation. They finally stopped calling and I received a collection notice for money I did not owe, with fees. I tried calling and they said again I need to mail a letter despite my explaining three were mailed. One woman even told me they received the letter but since I couldnt prove with a receipt number from almost a year ago that it was certified that she couldnt accept it. I also looked into this and saw in 2016 a complaint was filed and settlement was made with the *** attorney general against synergy fitness for deceptive and illegal practices related to their fraudulent and unfair cancelation policies.

      I canceled my membership in june of 2022 via certified letter. They stated it was recieved but not certified , which they never called me to notify me and continued to charge my credit card. I resent a certified letter again with signature required this time and I spoke to ****** a supervisor from their new billing company who has been changed various times. She stated she understood my complaint and they shldve never kept on charging me. She emailed the secretary from synergy corp and she told me they would not refund me. I called my credit card to dispute and also had to change my credit card because of the continued charges. The manager from the syngery location in ******** square is very rude , sarcastic and unprofessional. They would tell me they would call me back various times and nothing. This is unacceptable and now they want 110 dollars . I have been going thru this situation since june of 2022. They are now calling me constantly from billing , but when i had the issue at the beginning it took me a month or more to reach someone. ****** the supervisor said she was having alot of complaints with the same issue . Please let me know if you need any further information from me. Hopefully this matter can be resolved. Thank you .

      I followed instruction and send cancellation letter November 28th. I send letter and they continue call my phone. I am now being told it has to be certified registered mail. I called gym to cancel and went in they are difficult and will not cancel my membership. This is not how a company should handle membership cancellation. It is sad because I have a location nearby that I will not join because the ******** square location *********** not cancel no matter how many ways I try.

      I started going to Synergy Gym at the end of May 2022. I was told that I wasn't under a yearly contract, and could cancel or freeze my account at any time. I sent them an email on August 1st to cancel my membership but they never replied to it. I called on August 16th and asked how to cancel my membership and was told it had to be a letter, signed, and sent by certified mail to their address in *******. I sent that letter on August 16th and called them on August 25th to make sure my membership was canceled I was told it was and that they received my letter. Although I was normally charged on the 1st of the month when I was actively going to the gym, I was not charged on September 1st, so I believed they did cancel my account. Fast forward to October 26th, and I begin to get charged ***** by them (My membership was ***** because they never applied my student discount which would've made my payments ***** if they actually applied it which they never did). I called them about it on October 26th, and the boy I talked to said that he saw I was wrongfully charged and that it wouldn't happen again. He told me once the charge was posted to my account, they would give me a refund. The charge was posted onto my account on the 28th of October and I never received a refund so I filed a dispute with my bank about that charge. On November 26th, I am yet again charged *****. On November 27th I called them about the charge and the girl who picked up said she couldn't help me but she'd have her manager call me back to fix the issue. A week passes and the manager never calls me back, so I call them on December 2nd, and no one picks up my call. I filed another dispute with my bank and left them a review on ****** to see if they'd actually respond to it if I made the situation Public. All I want is a refund for the charges after I canceled and for them to remove my credit card information so that they stop charging me. My Bank was able to give me a refund on the charge for October.

      I have cancelled my membership with them several times. They constantly tell me they did not receive my request or it was not an official letter from the post office when it was. I have not been there in over 2 years and now they are charging my a yearly admin fee. I have called in the past 6 months every time of the day and there is never a manager available to help. Now when I call the front desk person she says she doesnt know anything or who the manager is or when h*** be there. They refuse to refund you or let you cancel your membership.

      I signed up in April for Synergy Fitness at their Sheepshead Bay location:**** ***********************************************************. Phone number ************** At the time when I signed the gym was not opened yet, thus they offered a pre-opening price of $39.99 fixed for life, without any other additional charges. They did not open the gym until July.They never gave me a formal contract On the 1st of each month, I was charged $39.99 Then on September 28th they charged without any authorization or consent $69.99.Upon my inquiry, I was told that $69.99 is for annual maintenance.I was not informed prior to the charge of any maintenance fee, and thus no consent or authorization was given.When I initially voiced my complaint, the manager told me, that I would be refunded the maintenance for this year.However, when I followed up the next day, he retracted his word, and told me that the most he can do is not charge for one month ($39.99), but that he cannot issue a refund.Thus, to resolve my issue, two things have to be done by Synergy:1) refund of the $69.99 charge 2) they have to issue a formal contract, to prevent any issues to arise in the future
