1 starEtihad record locator vy4vvw traveling on 19 Feb 2025 from ********** to ******* *****. Unprofessional attitude shown by Etihad gate employees asking me to go from ******* terminal 5 to terminal 3 to rebook my flight with American Airways for the next day. After AA rebooked me, Etihad just cancelled the rebooking without any explanation. I only found out by chance that it was canceled when I looked at the portal. AA had to rebook after Etihad customer service just threw up their hands and redirected me to AA. I wIll not fly Etihad again. Will consider other airlines.Review fromNeha P

1 starMy husband & I were to fly to India via Abu Dhabi in November. My husband had a sudden massive heart attack in October & was in ICU for @ 6-7 weeks. I informed Etihad 3-4 days after the incident occurred while my husband was still on the ventilator fighting for his life. Since then whatever documents Etihad asked for, i provided. I spent @ an hour almost everyday repeating the same things over & over again with their team while i was in the hospital ICU waiting area. Every time i called i was told, manager/medical team is reviewing & someone will call me in the next 24 hrs. Unfortunately my husband passed away late November, Etihad asked me to send them a death certificate which i did. TO this day, I keep calling & i am told that their supervisor/manager/doctors are reviewing the medical documents/doctor note/death certificate i sent them and they are yet to find a medical code to assign for my case. I understand lives do not matter to Etihad!! Every agent i talk with tells me their back end supervisor is communicating with the medical team but have not heard back from them. Supervisors do not come on the call to help resolve the issue. Loss of my husband has been weighing down heavily on my kids & I & and its companies like Etihad that makes such life changing events more painful for families like us!Review fromMohammad M

1 starMy family and I had a nightmare experience traveling with Etihad Airways. We bought Priority tickets to travel from ******, ******* to ********, ****** via *********. We arrived in ********* prior to 9:00 PM but my one year old son was not feeling well after the first flight. Our flight from ********* to ******** was scheduled for 1:30 AM. At 9:00 PM I immediately began trying to find someone with Etihad support and customer service to help switch our tickets to a later flight so that my son could rest. I called the call center more than five times but each time they were unable or unwilling to help me with changing our tickets to the 9:30 AM flight. They advised that I go to the help desk and that staff there would be able to change our tickets. I went to the help desk and spoke with Etihad staff who told me to call the *********** for help. I told them that I needed to get the tickets switched to a later flight immediately so that we did not lose the tickets, and was told not to worry that the tickets could be reissued for a later flight by customer service No one at the ********************** counter desk, Etihad call center, or Etihad gate could help us. At this point I just wanted to leave ********* and so we bought new tickets to fly out on the 9:30 AM flight. This came at an additional cost of ******** AED. I did not buy tickets that included baggage as we had already been told our baggage could be transferred at no additional charge. We got our boarding passes for the 9:30 AM flight from the check-in desk and they told us our luggage were still being held and could be transferred to our new flight at no extra charge. We went to the gate and were told that we could not board the plane until we paid over $3000 USD in luggage fees! My wife was in tears at this point, exhausted with the horrible customer service we received from **********************, the fact that we had now paid three times for the same flight and luggage. So we paid 3 times for the same horrible trip.Review fromNaveed R

1 starMy baggage got damaged during travel. After several attempts of complaining, the airlines responded after a long time and denied liability. They said the damage is minor so they are not liable. Its ridiculous as my baggage is unusable.Review fromMathew N

1 starUnaccompanied ************* My wife and kids travelled to ***** in June 2022, my wife couldn't travel back because of **** issues and so my kids (ages 11 & 6 at the time) travelled by themselves. the customer service said there was nothing we need to do to convert their tickets to unaccompanied minors because they had already travelled half the trip. At boarding, in the airport in India at around 1 am, the airport staff tell us that we need to fill out some forms and pay extra to get them to travel unaccompanied. we did that and my father-in-law travelled to ********* (the stop over) to make sure they got into the final flight to ******* where I would pick them up. that was my first complaint. On the flight, my younger son spilled food on his pants the first meal and sat like that for the next 14 hrs till he got down. He had not eaten the first meal and nobody on the flight checked on him. I raised this complaint with the airways, they offered a compensation of $100. I asked them to pay for one child's next travel, but they declined.Review fromNikhil K

1 starEtihad charged me $670 as flight modification charges on a $3,600 itinerary as I had to move a flight up a month due to the death of my grandmother. The agent helping with the change did not mention that as per Etihad policy that they should not be charging me any fees if the change is due to the death of an immediate family member. A week later, when I called the customer service for a refund for the flight modification charge, I was asked to submit documentation via email. After I submitted all requested documentation via email and calling the customer service, I was asked to submit a customer feedback on their website. Even after 2 months, after not hearing back from them, I am now being told that they cannot approve the refund because of their policy. This is not the kind of run around you expect from any professionally run airline. They are not even abiding by their own policies. *******************************************************************. "You will not be charged a change or refund fee in the unfortunate event of the death of a guest or an immediate family member (official documentation is required)"Review fromPrasanna N

1 starEtihad Airways delaying my refund for cancelled flight. Whenever I called customer service, they say that it is processed and asking me to check with the credit card company. When I checked with credit card company, they say they didnt get any refund. I am calling them once a week to get updates. Everytime the customer service picks up, they here what I say and replying that "I will ask the finance team through email and wait for the response. Pls call back after a week". This is what happening after 6 weeks, 6 calls. In same status. Do these guys know how much interest credit card company charges for the amount which they need to refund ? Its 24%. Not sure how someone will use Etihad Airways with this kind of making customers run pillar to post to get a refund even after 3 months.Review fromAnatomist R

1 starEtihad Airways is operating a crooked business. Their service may appear cheaper at times, but you get what you pay for. At every step of the journey from dealing with airport staff to the accommodations/adjustments to the food choices, their service is bad. Any dealings with additional purchases like upgraded seats may or may not be honored when flying. We purchased Extra Leg room seats with credit card during the online check-in/seat selection and when we went to the airport, their staff refused to provide the seats because their computer systems were showing the payment was not received. We showed the transactions on our credit card app as successfully charged, but they said until their systems reflect payment, it cannot be accepted. After the flight reached destination, we contacted Etihad customer service, opened a complaint, but never received resolution. When we disputed the charges with credit card company, they denied any wrong doing and refused to refund. Credit card company said they tried everything to get credit based on the evidence, but could not recover the charges as they insisted it is legitimate purchase, so we became liable to pay the upgrade fees. Etihad Airways is running a criminal organization and you better stay away from it.Review fromGotham K

1 starI was going to explain how Etihad is one of those middle eastern tourist scams to be aware of, but after reading the reviews online, this is very evident, and I was just ignorant for falling the scam that is "Etihad". I flat lost about $1400 (a reversal that never made it back to the credit card), and to add insult to injury, they charged me $4000 for a single economy oneway (which was promised to be adjusted but never happened). Etihad and their "agents" are basically a Ponzi scheme to cheat people and point at each other so that one would be responsible.Review fromTabish A.

1 starEtihad Airways gave me a refund for a flight cancellation via **********. When I tried to book the flight using **********, I was not able to do so. Upon calling customer service, I was dealt very rudely and told that ********** had been frozen for a month for all the accounts. I was not sent any email regarding this change, and the customer service supervisor simply hung up on me after telling me that this issue could not be solved.
