In July, 2024, I dropped off my cartier watch for repair. It has been months and months, and each time I check in, I am told by *** ********** that it is almost fixed. I now see that the store has closed down and I have not received my watch and have no way of contacting ***. (*** is the owner). I have called the number and it goes to voicemail and says the voicemail box is full. I now see online that there are numerous complaints against him, going back decades. I just want my watch back.Initial Complaint

I brought a watch in for repair on December 9th. I would call and text for an estimate on timing, which they were slow to respond to. It has now been a month since the last response and their phone goes straight to voicemail. Their store has not been open for at least a week as well. I am very concerned that they shut the business down and have run away with my belongings.Initial Complaint

*** ******* ***** sent us two watches for repair estimates: a Universal Geneva watch and an antique pocket watch. We informed him that both needed repairs, with the pocket watch being particularly challenging due to its early 1900s parts, which are difficult to source. The estimated repair cost for the pocket watch was $2,000, while the Universal Geneva watch was estimated at $700.
*** ***** inquired about the outright purchase price for the Universal Geneva watch, and we offered $500, which he accepted. We agreed to repair the pocket watch for $695, rather than the initial estimate of $2,000.
We have begun servicing the Universal Geneva watch, and the pocket watch is currently under repair. We are waiting on additional parts and will notify *** ***** as soon as the work is complete. He can then pay the balance of $695, less the $500 he agreed to for the Universal Geneva watch. If he has any further questions, please have him contact us directly. Thank you.Initial Complaint

I purchased an antique box from ***************************, ***** *************, on April *******. I did not receive my purchase. The shipper, ***** never delivered my package. I have been in constant contact with him since April to resolve the issue. He will not cooperate or reimburse my money. He even tried to substitute my original purchase and charge me an extra $250 for another box which was for sale on his website for the same price I paid for my original purchase that I have not received.Customer Answer

On May 10, 2023 I found a used Tissot Rock watch that I had been searching for at this store. Before I purchased the watch, I noticed that the watch was not set to current time and that the hands were not advancing, so I told the owner, ***************************, that I did not want the watch unless it worked. I waited for over half an hour for his employee to put a new battery in the watch at which time he told me that the watch was working. Prior to running the purchase on my credit card he did not advise me that all sales were final and that it was buyer beware if the watch did not indeed work after purchase. I left the store wearing the watch and continued shopping in the local neighborhood. After approximately 30 mins I noticed that the watch was not keeping proper time compared to my cell phone, so I headed back to the store. I returned to the store 45 minutes after I had left, at which point the watch had lost about 12 minutes of time. I explained the situation to the owner, ***, and asked for a refund at which time he advised me that all sales were final and that he would not issue a refund. He offered to attempt to repair the watch, but that would entail me returning another day, and I was scheduled to leave on a flight to ****** the next morning. I insisted that he refund my full purchase price because the watch did not work, as he represented it did, and I had told him before he ran the credit card purchase that I did not want the watch if it did not work. He continued to refuse. I disputed the charge with my credit card company, but because he claims that he has an "all sales final" policy he is exempt from charge backs. The only reason he is not willing to refund my money is because he knows that he has a defective watch and that he may have a difficult time trying to repair it or **** it off on some other unsuspecting buyer. He is disreputable and sells used watches without testing them on an "all sales final" basis. Beware him.Business Response

Dear Better Business Bureau,
Our records indicate that several years ago, our mutual customer *************************** visited our gallery to purchase a specific rock-style watch. After negotiating a price, he paid, and we handed him the watch. He returned a day or so later, stating that the watch was running slow or had a timekeeping issue and requested a refund. We informed him that all sales are final, as indicated on our receipts. Our recollection is that he decided to leave the watch with us. We believe we replaced the battery, and the watch is now working perfectly. We can locate the watch if necessary. If ************** provides us with a current address and his permission, we are happy to find the watch and send it to him at no additional charge, covering all shipping and insurance fees.
Please let us know if he wishes us to proceed. As far as we are concerned, the case is closed.Sincerely,
***

I have an IWC Portugieser and a Fortis Pilot that I wanted to give to my son for his 18th and to my godson for Christmas respectively. I searched online to find which store dealt with repairs on these luxury brands. APR57 came up. I wish I had taken the time to check the many BBB complaints of embezzlement and theft that the owner ************************* has received over the years. And that I had found this *** special about his larceny under constantly changing business names: ****************************************** On 9/12/2022, I went to the store. ************************* was there personally. I asked him if he could replace the crown on the **** because it felt sharp to the thumb, if he could service the Fortis watch and how much that would cost. He said I should leave the watches with him, he would call me within 2 days with an estimate. He gave me the attached receipt #****. No call came that week, or the week after. I called. And could not get through. "Mailbox full". I went back to the store a couple of weeks later. Only his assistant was there. She wrote my name and phone number in a ledger, said *** would call me. He never did. A few weeks later I went back again. *** was there. He said it was hard to find the parts, so he couldn't give the estimate. I said I just wanted the watches back now. He said they were with his watchmaker, he would get them back within the next day and call me. No call. I wrote am email on 11/22 saying I was canceling my request for a quote and gave him an address to deliver the watches within 48 hours. No reply. A days before Christmas, he finally called me unexpectedly and said he would have an estimate in a few hours?!? He never called back.On 1/25/23, I wrote him an email saying: if you do not return the two watches, I will contact the BBB and the ************************** He replied: "If you left the watches here, can you please provide ** with a repair ticket so we can try to help you." I sent him the #. No reply to this day.Customer Answer

Hi, ***************,
I have not been contacted by APR57 regarding complaint ID ********.
What are we going to do about this? He robbed me of very valuable things. They have made television specials on the local news about his criminal ways.
Why do you let someone like that operate in ********? Before everyone's eyes? I don't understand it.
Sincerely,
********************Business Response

I had made a purchase of two items sold by ARP 57, a ************** and a **********************. Each had its own description and attributes that were stated in the online listing9Enclosed) as well as told to me in person. Once I took possession of the pieces, I verified the authenticity of them and was told that the statements both published and stated in person were absolutely false! The owner *** is a blatant liar. He knowingly and continuously presented me with false information, which apparently is his business practice. The ****** was not a limited edition as documented by the manufacturer (document enclosed). The Patek was not new when he sold it to me and has issues that are consistent with a used watch (document enclosed. I have asked to return these Items and he refuses to accept them .Business Response

Dear Better Business Bureau,
Our mutual client, ***********************, filed a dispute against us regarding a purchase he made. Despite **************** having the watches in his possession, the credit card company ruled in his favor. We did not dispute this ruling, even though he retained the items. As a result, the case concluded in ******************** favor. We trust that **************** is satisfied after winning this dispute and keeping the expensive items.Regards,
***

I contacted APR57 in June of 2022 for an appraisal on several old signed Hollywood photos and a hand signed typed letter from ************************* to ******************* APR57 sent a prepaid *** ** shipping label. I sent these pieces to ****** using the shipping label that they furnished me with. On June 29th *** ** tracking said that ***************** had signed for the package that I sent him for an appraisal. A week or two went by and I hadn't heard from ****** so I called them and they said they had not had a chance to look at the pieces I had sent to them. They said that they would get back to me with an appraisal. A couple more weeks go by and.there was no reply. I called them again and they said they would get back to me the next day and I didn't hear back from them. About a month goes by and I still hadn't heard back from them. So I called them again. They gave me the same story about getting back to me the next day. And just like before they didn't get back to me. They have had my belongings for a few days shy of four months. Now when I call or email them they won't answer the phone or respond to my emails
