When I went in for my appointments, I kept being recommended for different tests without being told prices. I was pressured to do numerous cardiac tests because my EKG was abnormal, and later found out the same thing happened to my roommate and several sources online. I was made to believe there was something seriously wrong with me, when in reality all I needed was a few blood tests. Several months later, I started getting charges on my card without receiving any bills. I have called and texted with customer support asking to be send a copy of my bill so I know what Im paying for, and have not received anything. This place is scamming me and ignoring me. I never even got the help I came in for. My time and money is wasted.Initial Complaint

Medical Office: ************************ Address: ***************************************************************** ********************************************* Date: 10/13/23 *** Billed: $370 *** Discounted by insurance: $176.39 *** Paid by me: $0 This was a telehealth dr **** for a refill I asked if it was necessary to have a visit just for a refill. They said yes. I asked how much the **** would cost if I was self pay and they quoted me $150 (which would be discounted by my ins)When I tried to book the **** they said my Dr wasn't available, but another Dr in the office was. Would I like to book with her? I said sure. We had an 8 min phone call. She asked how the meds were going. I said fine, no complaints. She sent the refill to my pharmacy, and we hung up. I then get a bill for $370 because she has a different rate than my doctor and they're calling our phone call a 'psych evaluation'. And I was a 'new patient'. I have asked them for months to rebill this at the rate I was quoted and they haven't. There is no billing contact on site at the office. And they don't take phone calls. Everything is in writing on their portal. I should not have to pay $370 for a refill to be called in. People should know this office is not acting in good faith.Customer Answer

I went in for the annual physical exam on on April 17th, 2023 and did not approve any additional tests with extra cost to be carried out. The ************ her team ordered a cardiogram and assured me it was covered by insurance and within the annual physical exam.I did not approve for this test to be done if it had any charge whatsoever, yet I have received a statement of the more than $400 dollars that Im being asked to pay this is malpractice and the options and correct information and cost were not disclosed to the patient, and the patient did not approve of the examination to be conducted given the context of the purposefully misleading information provided ro the patient, I see from comments in this has repeatedly happened with other patients as well. I refuse to pay this bill, dispute the validity of the statement and charge to me, considered I did not approve it, I was lied to and mislead, and I only went in for my annual physical. Id like this entire charge for the test to be dropped as invalid. Please get back to me with a resolution.Initial Complaint

On December 10, 2022, I visited Medical Offices of Manhattan "MOM" for an annual physical. After my visit, MOM filed two claims to my healthcare insurance- one which was in-network and one which was out of network. Both claims had the same billing code (i.e. annual physical). My insurance paid the in-network claim and I paid for the portion of the in-network claim that apparently did not fall under a preventative exam in the amount of $90.50 (which was not disclosed to me at the time of service). Despite several attempts to get MOM's billing department to dismiss the duplicate claim, they have since charged my on file credit card for the outstanding balance of the duplicate claim ($192.26). I had asked them to wait to charge the card until my health insurance dealt with the duplicate claim issue. Not only did they proceed to charge my card, they also threatened to send the "unpaid balance" of the duplicate claim to a collections agency. They have now gotten paid twice for the same visit. I still cannot get through to the billing department for them to issue me a refund, despite many many attempts. I also understand that I am not the only person who has had billing issues with this provider and I believe they need to be investigated. Please help me.Initial Complaint

I was simply trying to get paperwork filled out for school on July 20, 2022 with information already found in my charts by D.O. ******************************* and was charged a sum of $225.00 for this purpose. This is not covered by my medical insurance, but nothing of the charge was verbalized to me prior to. I am filing this formal complaint due to lack of transparency prior to services rendered. I, as the consumer, have the right to know the sum of charges for the services rendered prior to them being carried through. This is not the first time this office has charged for services they may or may not know are covered or not covered by insurance. It should be their due diligence to inform all patients of services and charges.Customer Answer

I am about to start medical school so I went to the Medical Offices of Manhattan *************** to get my physical from ********************. I went on 5/20/22 and gave him the forms from my school. He ordered the wrong blood test so he told me I had to come BACK for the correct test. So I came back on 5/24/22 just to give the blood so he could order the right test. That was it. Now they are charging me $89 for that visit even though I only went back because of the doctor's ****** They are threatening to send me to collections over this bill and I am trying to contact them to explain why this was bad billing on their part. I called them on 6/29/22 to discuss these charges, got forced to leave a message, and never heard back. I then called again on 7/14/22 and spoke to ******, who said she would look into it, and then never got back to me. I called again on 7/20/22 and left a message and havent heard back. And I called again on 7/22/22 and left a message and still haven't heard back. I also sent an email on 7/22/22 listing all the times I have contacted them and still haven't heard back as of 7/27/22. I need them to reach out to me and discuss this billing with me and either not charge me for their error or tell me to their face that they are still going to charge me for their doctor's ********Initial Complaint

I asked them to remove my credit card information their files, as I do not trust them and they have billed me for incorrect services. Going forward, I do not want to be automatically charged - I want to see the itemized **** before I authorize payment.I asked in person once, and they said they would do it. The next week, they charged the same credit card I had requested to take off file. I called in and they told me to write an email to request to remove it. I wrote the email and they responded to it saying they could not take it off my files. I wrote back demanding they remove my information, as I have not given my consent for them to use my card. I have not received a response.Customer Answer

The organization just sent an email about an automated payment they will be processing when I haven't been at the physician in 2 years. Seems like they are trying to charge my card without me knowing. If I didn't look through my spam folder I would've never found it. Dodgy business tactics if you ask meBusiness Response

Charge in question is for services rendered on 3/27/2021. Insurance responded on 3/31/2022 stating this amount was applied to the patients deductible and he is responsible to pay it. Statements were sent to the patient on 4/11/2022 & 5/11/2022 and were not responded to. As per the financial policy patient signed at the time he was seen in our office he agreed to have his credit card on file charged for any unpaid balances. We have also reached out to this patient by phone to explain and discuss this balance but he has not responded.
