I have $300 in gift cards that I just found out (from this BBB website) arent honored by ****. I erroneously assumed **** would cover them, because thats the usual protocol for other companies in the same situation. When I call the number on the gift card, its a recorded phishing message from some medical alert company asking for more information about me. I hung up, but now they have my number and Im on some spam call list. The reason I was not able to file a complaint within one year is because neither Saks nor Barneys contacted me to inform me that gift cards were worthless. I cards were issued to me directly from Barneys.

I have a gift card with a balance of $250 on it. On the social media platform ********** ***************** page is still active AND advertising products you can purchase via their website. When you click on the item and click on "view on website" it leads you to the Saks Fifth Avenue website. If you then also go on line and ****** Barneys New York (***************) and go through that website, it will redirect you to a Barneys At Saks webpage which is a part of the ******************* website. Once on there, I was not able to use my gift card. I called to get assistance via the Barneys at Saks number at the bottom of the web page, and when I described the situation the customer service assistant asked me for the card number. I told her that there was a bar and also a scratch off part that I had not scratched out yet. She asked me to scratch it off and said she could then help me. I did and read the card number to her and then she asked me to wait and put me on hold for 10 minutes and then the call disconnected. I called back and spoke to another customer service person named Farouk, and after explaining the situation he let me know there was nothing they could do because they did not issue the card. I told them that I didn't realize that ******** had closed because clearly they are still posting on instagram as Barneys with adds with links to purchase through the platform and on their website. He repeated that he could not help me. I asked if there would be a manager that could help with this matter. He said it would not make a difference and the manager would say the same thing. I began to ****** as we spoke and a link to the BBB came up with various complaints. I let him know that I would be adding to the complaints and he just reiterated that they would not honor the card.
