It is with sadness, that I write this review because I pride myself in supporting Black businesses. However, my time with ****** as my attorney was extremely disappointing & hurtful. Things started off great but took a turn several months later into my trial when I forwarded her emails from my ex-husband over the weekend to keep her informed of things related to my case. She called me and condescendingly told me to stop forwarding her emails because it was her time off. When I told her I didn’t appreciate her tone or her lack of sensitivity to my issue, she responded by sharing a tragic incident that happened with one of her other clients (which I will not share out of respect for that client) as a way to minimize the issue I was having with my ex-husband. I considered switching attorneys after this exchange, but since I was mid-trial, I decided to try to make it work with her. I eventually started to notice inconsistencies with how I was being billed. There were long breaks between trial dates (due to the pandemic) but I was still receiving large bills for work that I was not aware was happening because we rarely had meetings. Her billing system doesn't reflect credit card payments which only added to my confusion and the information her billing assistant gave me did not align with the information ****** was giving me. Even though I was not always clear on how I was billed, I still continued to pay it so that the work on my case wouldn't stop. She blindsided me with an email that she will no longer represent me bc I don't understand how she bills and sent me several emails threatening to file a motion if I did not sign and notarize a change of attorney form. Dealing with matters related to my children and their father was already stressful, and it was only added stress to overpay an attorney who dropped me mid-trial just for trying to understand how she bills. I paid her approximately $24,000 in legal fees and have nothing to show for it.
