    I was researching the different available pet food options for my pet online. I was looking at the Pet Plate and trying to read up on information online. However, when clicking for additional information, I was charged $235.43 on my Amex charge card. Before I knew it, Pet Plate had set up an online subscription account. I immediate researched how to cancel and was only able to cancel the subscription but not the order. There was information online indicating that although I cancelled the subscription, the order, itself, would still process.Pet Plate had no working telephone number for which I could call them directly to cancel and they inciated that email had to be sent to ********************************** for cancelling of orders. However, they mention that *** not get back to you for ***** hours (which is too late because they have already charged my Amex card). I asked for immediate attention to the matter but I have to wait. It makes absolutely no sense.

    THE GOOD: My dog loves the food, and the plastic containers are the best of any home service.THE BAD: **************** and misinformation. I was first told my overweight dog should be given one 8oz container of food per day, but the literature that came with the food said "generally 4 oz per 10 lbs" is the correct amount of food, meaning my already-overweight dog should have only 6oz per day. After much questioning through email I discovered they have no smaller containers than 8oz. And, when asked, they admitted that the recommended food amount did NOT account for treats I may choose to give my dog, Remarkably, they did not account for treats even though they sent free "25 calories each" treats with the food! They eventually admitted that if I am going to give my dog treats his food allotment should be cut down. It was decided 6oz per day was adequate, after which the agent agreed it be better to get 12oz containers so I could give 1/2 container per day. The agents wrote 2 emails to me quoting the same price for these larger containers, but when I finally agreed to order at the quoted price they said it was actually 20+% higher than original quotes claiming they had made a "mistake". You cannot call; communications are by email or chat if you're lucky enough to get someone live. I really wanted this to work. I love the packaging and my dog loves the food. But, I feel I was mislead in two significant ways. First, by Pet Plate trying to sell me too much food for my dog in recommending a daily amount that exceeded their own "general" guidelines, and making this recommendation even though I noted my dog is "plump". Second, by luring me into agreeing to buy food at one price and then insisting I pay a higher price.

We will of course honor the pricing you were originally quoted and we are so sorry that you had some difficulty receiving this outcome - this is not the service we like to give and we hope that you will allow us to make things right. We also followed up regarding the feeding guidelines you mentioned in our email. Your specific calorie recommendations are seen on the container as well, based on the system and analysis our Veterinary Nutritionist created, and the generalized instructions are for one-off feeding when picked up in a store or if you give some to a friend. However, we will always trust you and your Vet and work to get you the plan that you think is best. I believe it was discussed in your original email to put your pup on a different plan that will work better, and this plan will still be available at the original quoted price once you return. We appreciate you taking the time to give us this feedback and hope to hear back from you very soon via email. We are here 7 days a week and always happy to help!
