I paid the Guarantors a "deposit" that my bank confirmed was processed . they are now claiming that the transaction was never successful and is trying to take the situation to court and report to my landlord when it is not true! I have provided them with documentation of such as well!TheGuarantors

Hello ***,Were sorry to hear about this confusion. Please note that our coverage is not a deposit but rather a deposit replacement, which is an insurance policy purchased as a condition of signing your lease with the building. When a payment for this insurance premium fails, we reach out to the contact information on file to request repayment. Failing repayment, we reserve the right to send an outstanding balance to a collection agency. We have been unable to locate an account with your full name or email address provided. Please reach out to us at ***************************** with this information and we will be glad to address these concerns further.Review fromAntonio B

I used TheGuarantors to assist me with getting an apartment with a managament company (that I also complained about do not recommend June ******* and when I decided to go the traditional route with a roommate, I left my deposit with TheGuarantors in hopes Id find an apartment that accepted them. That was not the case. When I asked them if they had a database of available apartments that do take them, they directed me to download their extension which only works on StreetEasy. They dont help you beyond that. When I asked for a refund since I didnt find anything, they told me Id be charged an $100 cancellation fee!so, you guarantee that you have $100 less towards an apartment for a company that does not help you with the process of being a present third-party guarantor that barely any landlords or property management companies will accept in ***? GOT IT.At least real estate agents are more helpful than these folks and they may not even take an entire brokers fee either.TheGuarantors

Hello *******,Thank you for letting us know about ******* clarify: the coverage that you had purchased from us was not a deposit. Instead, this was a premium you paid for a policy which provided Rent and Deposit *********** stated on our website (*******************************************************************************) our Rent Coverage allows renters to qualify for an apartment without a personal guarantor and our Deposit Coverage replaces the traditional security deposit with a lower-cost fee.Our Customer Success team also offered another resource we have for renters (**************************************) where you can search our list of enrolled buildings by ZIP code, city, or building address. Further, as our refund policy (accessible here ********************************************************************) states we are able to issue a refund (minus a $100 cancellation fee) in the event a renter chooses to cancel. We regret that this instruction was not made more clear and convenient for you. If you have any other questions, we would be glad to provide you with further support.Review fromLinda J T

1 starThis company is a scam and if I could give zero stars I would. I paid them $800 upfront as a type of renters insurance. However it is not renters insurance as you still need to obtain renters insurance elsewhere. So I paid $800 to the guarantors. I moved out of my lease early, no money will be returned, ok fine. Then I get a bill from the apartment for $500. The guarantors stated they will cover the $500 owed to the apartment but I have to pay them back. So all in all, I paid these people to do absolutely nothing. Its a business that is just collecting free money from people who are trying to get into an apartment. If your apartment says they use the guarantors as a security deposit just do yourself a favor and find another apartment. Youre giving free money to this company for them to say, ya they can move in! What a scam.Review fromJohn S

1 starWas required by my landlord to purchase them a Guarantors insurance product in October 2023. Upon my lease renewal for this summer my Landlord agreed that I did not have to purchase the insurance bond again for my new lease. The Guarantors did not like that. They wanted my money. The sent email after email after email saying they were entitled to nearly $4000. Further they stated they would attempt to interfere in me getting a lease renewal, that they would contact my landlord. They felt they had a say in the matter and could veto me securing housing. These people are scam artists and charlatans. They will seek to trick people into believing that they can prevent a lease renewal unless you pay them thousands and thousands of dollars. Be ware of dealing with these crooks.Review fromErik S

1 starBe careful dealing with theGuarantors. The are dishonest and misleading in their words. They are not getting you approved to pay your security deposit. You are basically buying them. They do not refund your security deposit like an apartment company does. They say you purchase coverage for a security deposit. Exhaust all other option before this. Itll hurt you in the long run.Review fromcici H

1 starAs others in these reviews have said, scam, data mining, and running with complexes to discriminate, take advantage, just get your information and money. Think about it like this the complex has already checked your information prior to you contacting this 3rd party. Both the complex and this company are aware prior to you applying. The ONLY WAY you would be referred is if you have certain stipulations. Consumer law states you are able to opt out and request to have your information removed from them or the account they forced you to create deleted is a request to the company which I did twice and they are refusing to remove my personal information and STILL HAS NOT delete the account.Review fromErica M

These people are the biggest ********! I have signed two leases with them and the third year they told me my credit went down and they couldn’t help me. They are a company that is suppose to help people with low credit. They also would send me emails or other peoples bills due and I kept telling them they weren’t mine and I didn’t owe. They definitely will discrimate against you if you call them out on anything. Now since I don’t have a lease with them anymore they are refusing to give me back my collateral claiming it has to be 30 days after I move out but I signed a lease on my own with my building. They are just all around robbers who take advantage of people and need to be shut down!!!!!!TheGuarantors
