Had solar panels installed. They are not producing any energy. Spoke with electricity supplier and was explained that the inverter msy need to be checked and an energy audit should be done. I have reached out to Ysg and get a answering machine to leave a message with a promise of a return call. I have made several attempts and no response. I am not an engineer or an electrician. I am.hoping to get someone to look at the equipment as I have never experienced low billing.

In May 2018, we had solar panels purchased from and installed by YSG Solar, the installation was completed and the panels were operational. However, the *** Job filings/permits were not closed out, hence I couldn't apply for ******* tax credit ($5000). I had been in contact with their operations team, but they had been giving me different reasons for pushing back dates, and stopped answering my emails/calls recently. I would like them to them to properly close out the outstanding job permits, and process NY property tax abatement as listed in the contract.

      Date: 04/03/2025

      Dear Better Business Bureau,
We appreciate the opportunity to respond to *** ****** complaint and provide clarification regarding the status of their project.

YSG Solar has been in communication with *** **** to address the challenges that have delayed the closure of their Department of Buildings (DOB) filings and the processing of their New York property tax abatement. Unfortunately, we encountered difficulties with the previous engineer assigned to this project, which resulted in unforeseen delays in completing the necessary filings.

To resolve this matter, we have engaged a new engineer and now have a clear path forward to submit the required documentation to the **** Based on our current timeline, we anticipate submission to align with the next property tax abatement period in March 2026.

We understand the frustration caused by these delays; however, we are pleased to inform our client that the property tax abatement program has been extended until 2034. As a result, he will receive a higher benefit than originally anticipated at the time of signing his contract.
YSG Solar remains committed to fulfilling our obligations and ensuring that *** **** receives the full benefits of his solar installation. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and will continue to work diligently toward finalizing the required filings.

Please let us know if any further information is required.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I received an email from *** Operations Team (*******) on April 3rd regarding the commitment to close in March 2026. Please understand that this response was only provided after I filed a compliant here at BBB, I didn't get a single word at all in the last 3-4 months, my phone seems to be on a block list since all my calls to the business automatically went to voice mail. I responded asking a high-level plan/timeline (please see latest email attached) but haven't received a response yet. I was given the same commitment to close throughout our communications in the last few years (as shown in previous email attachments); and it was always postponed for various reasons. Therefore, I'm not comfortable to mark this as resolved at the moment; if history repeats, I wouldn't be able to file the same compliant that was already marked as resolved.

      Business Response

      Date: 04/11/2025

      Hello Better Business Bureau,

We would like to sincerely acknowledge and validate our client *** ****** frustration regarding prior communication gaps and concerns surrounding the projected closeout timeline. We understand how this has contributed to a lack of confidence, and we take these concerns seriously.

Following the BBB complaint, our Operations Team contacted the customer on April 3rd confirming the projected abatement closeout by March 2026. While this outreach did occur after the complaint was filed, we want to reiterate that our intention is to provide transparency and restore trust through clearer, more consistent updates.

To support the *** ****** request for a high-level timeline, we are sharing the following general process specific to NYC Property Tax Abatement closeout: This may be subject to change depending on the different municipalities that are involved.

      Review & Verification (Current Q3 2025):
Internal review of all project documentation, permits, and compliance requirements.
Coordination with building management and other stakeholders for any outstanding items.
      Final Inspections & Compliance (Q4 2025):
Scheduling and completion of DOB and HPD (if applicable) inspections.
Submission of final sign-offs and supporting documentation to NYC agencies.
      Abatement Filing (Q1 2026):
Submission of final tax abatement paperwork to the ************************* (DOF).
Confirmation of application acceptance and processing timeline.
      Closure Confirmation (Target: March 2026):
      Receipt of abatement approval/closeout documentation.
Final communication to all parties confirming completion.

We understand the customers hesitation to mark the case as resolved given previous delays. While we believe we have responded appropriately by providing both a timeline and a path forward, we fully respect his right to withhold resolution status until further progress is demonstrated.

We remain committed to proactive communication and will continue to engage the customer with updates as each phase progresses.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and fully understand that resolution of this sort will take time; I'm in agreement with the target closure timeline in March 2026. After speaking with *** ******** I will mark this matter as resolved to avoid unnecessary follow-up among all parties, and with the understanding that YSG Solar will keep me posted with progress updates and/or blockers. If no progress has been made by end of Q3 2025 as outlined in the timeline, I shall reopen this case.

Thank you very much for your help on this!

This company sold me solar, convinced me to take a loan from GreenSky to pay, promised me interconnection of the service. I am yet to get solar savings. The solar system was over $30,000 split in two parts. I paid off the amount with the highest interest rate first (about $15,000). They put my solar account under the control of one woman (**** ***********) who is supposedly a ConEdison employee. I attempted to reach this same person for years and have not received a response or call back from that person. I have called this person and left messages but received no response. YSG Solar installed the system and assigned me to "Community Solar" which provides solar energy savings to conEdison customers who do not have **********************. No one at ConEdison can give me an answer. According to them I can only talk to **** *********** but I am receiving high monthly conEdison bills. The company GreenSky is also sending me monthly bills for the credit account. This has negatively impacted my credit. If the companies GreenSky and YSG Solar are not stealing the solar energy, where is it being applied to? They have scammed me and I am suffering! I am seeking for refund of the thousands of dollars I paid to conEdison, finish to job/rectify the installation and assignment problem and correction to my credit report. Please help me!

I purchased a system four years ago and made multiple requests that the company send me the completed documentation for the PT-4 property tax abatement form so I can claim my property tax benefit. This form must be completed by the contractor/architects who put in the system. I was told multiple times that this was in process and I would be told when it was completed. The company stopped responding to my emails and does not have a working phone number--so there is effectively no way to contact them. It is impossible to claim these solar tax incentives provided by the state of of NY without the company's cooperation. Given the sheer volume of complaints against this operation, it's time the *** attorney general gets involved.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I am writing in reference to my complaint filed against YSG solar. You already have the full text of my complaint so I'll spare you the details.

YSG Solar--the business that is the subject of my complaint- reached out to me two weeks ago to tell me that the tax rebate forms they were obligated to complete on my behalf need to completed by the third-party engineering firm who they hired to complete the solar system they installed on my home approximately four years ago. They told me that someone would be reaching out to me from the engineering firm shortly. Unsurprisingly, no one has reached out to me since I spoke to YSG.

This is consistent with the pattern of behavior that led to this dispute in the first place--I ask YSG to address the issue, they tell me it's in process, and then nothing happens.

Please let me know if there is anything else you need from me.

I want to start by saying saying I was sold untruthful facts by YSG Solars Rep. regarding savings I would get by installing solar panels in 6/2017. The savings was so short lived and my electric bill had dropped down to about $17-$25 a month from approximately $190-$233 a month without solar. Today my billing is back at the same $200+ **** with solar and I don't know why Coned has me on a Level payment plan. I've called YSG over and over in the past about the panels not working right and no one has come to do maintenance to make sure it's working. Month after month the panels readings indicate from Con ****** billing that there's "O" Cumulative net meter energy credit. I'm looking at a statement which show me a period from 1/13/2022-4/14/2022 was "** *****. Only 4/14/2022-5/13/2022 that there was "-*** ***** on the reading for usage credited. The whole remainer of time from 5/14/2022-12/13/2022 "** ***** is shown. The same for 1/13/2023-3/16/2023 "0" then 3/16/2023-4/13/2023 "***** *****, 4/13/2023-5/12/23 "-***", 5/12/23-6/13/23 -**** *****, 6/13/23-7/13/23 "-**** ***** and after that 7/13/23-2/12/23 "*". I was told by a Rep.******* during a call I made 12/2021 that during winter months that its monthly cloudy so I wouldnt receive direct sunlight to the panels to produce credit as much as the summer months. These panels are not functioning right and l've been ripped off. Also YSG installed the panels on my roof and knew the roof was in poor condition. I just had my roof inspected due to a bad leak and the insurance inspector stated its an issue to leave it in this condition. This is unsafe for me and my family living under a bad job at the hands of this shady work. I'm very unsatisfied and have reached out numerous times regarding the panels not working correctly and nothing has changed, Con ****** has just been taking my money, and YSG got paid $12,500.00 of my hard earned money and now I'm stuck with the many issues to resolve with no one to turn to fix them.

I bought a system from YSG and was told that they will Warranty the system for the 25 years as it says in my contract l, I can not reach customer service due to they blocked my numbers, no replies from emails, and when I have issues I have to source outside contractors to fix my system that is under warranty by YSG, I havent been able to monitor my system in over a year due to the system they originally installed expired with the cell service and they wanted me to pay to upgrade it. Im paying for a system that I can not monitors or use because they refuse to provide the service they agreed to. So I need them to fix the system so I can monitor it and get the solar usage that I payed for or refund me for the cost of the system so I can get another company in to provide what they can not.

      Business Response

      Date: 03/25/2024

      Good Afternoon Sir-

Thank you for the email response. The manufacturer of the equipment does hold a 25-year warranty on the entire solar panel installation. The internet monitoring portal is free for years 1-5, and the manufacturer SolarEdge charges a fee if you want to use a cell phone service, otherwise if you use your internet at the home it does not come with any additional fees. We will email and call you with copies of the instructions on how to purchase an additional cell card to use the wireless internet, and instructions on how to connect this to your home internet if you choose to use that instead.

      Thank you

I am writing to report an issue with my solar system's monitoring. It is no longer sending updates, likely due to the recent 3G network shutdown and my cellular connection malfunctioning.I have attempted to contact you via phone at and email, but unfortunately, I haven't received a response. To resolve this issue, I'd like to explore connecting my system to ethernet. Could you please advise on the following:How can I get my system connected to ethernet for data transmission? Are there any specific instructions or resources available for this process? If connecting to ethernet is not feasible, I'd appreciate information on any alternative solutions available due to the 3G shutdown.
