      I went on the Spectacular ****** trip. Parts of it were wonderful and others were not as pleasant. The activity level needs to be adjusted. It is harder than the description. Many uneven steps and steep inclines everywhere. The food on the ship was ok. Not enough time to see the islands. When we got back to Athens, it was very confusing. Our last was the worst. We were told our ****** would be there at 1:30. We had seen our luggage get loaded earlier onto the hotel van. Our guide did not show up until 2:30 pm with the excuse that the number in the computer was wrong. We just wanted to get on the bus and head to the airport. Our luggage had not been loaded until we got up to it. The hotel staff made several calls to see what was going on and tried to update us. We felt that now that the tour was over, nobody cared about us. Not the way to end a trip.

      We went on the Spectacular ****** trip. The tours were good; however I wish we had more free time and spent less time at all of the ruins. There was some mis-communication between multiple guides including almost missing our return flight home as the guide did not show up on time. Hotels were great. Food on cruise ship was not good. Hectic schedule on ship for 4 days as well.

      We went on 2 tours, ************ and *****. The South African tour was organized and led by a wonderful guide. SmarTours contracted with ********* for the ***** tour and it was not well organized.

      I thought the tour was OK. The food on the cruise ship was OK. I was not impressed by it. We took a trip to the Greek Islands I think we saw too many ruins. I wish we wouldve had more free time to spend on the islands.I think the first day that we arrived they shouldve given us more time to adjust.

      My trip with Smartours was canceled twice due to Covid. That was outside of Smartours control. The third time it was canceled due to not enough people signing up for the trip. That was also outside of Smartours control. I made my final payment, which Smartours accepted, and they then canceled the trip 36 hours after accepting the final payment. They should not have accepted my final payment. That was under their control. I was told that they do expect customers to make final payments on trips that were expected to be canceled. I was told that they would only offer a credit toward a future trip. I told them I wanted a refund. They finally agreed to a refund and told me on the phone and also in an email that the refund was approved and it would *********** to 8 weeks for me to receive the check. After waiting 2 weeks I called to ask about the refund. I was told that if the check had not already gone out, it would go out that day. I called back a week later and was told the refund had not been approved and no check was written. I told them I wanted my final payment refunded to my credit card. I contacted my bank and put the final payment amount in dispute. Smartours finally processed the refund. I then asked them to refund my initial down-payment. They refused to do that. I will be submitting a complaint to the BBB for my down-payment. Smartours has earned the * rating they have with the BBB.

      Our trip to **** was absolutely wonderful! We had perfect weather the entire trip - perhaps because of a culturally unique experience of obtaining a blessing by an authentic shaman on our first day in *****. We had an outstanding guide, *******, who enriched us with so much valuable information, as well as interesting stories, and he had quite a good sense of humor. We got great exercise touring the Inca ruins and magnificent ************. The Floating Islands in Lake Titicaca was a very special experience (seeing how the Uros Indians live and thrive on islands made entirely of reeds). On Taquile Island (a ****** World Heritage site) we enjoyed seeing how the Quechua people make their beautiful textiles and they danced for us as well. On the optional extension, it was thrilling to fly over the *********** and the next day see dolphins, thousands of cormorants, sea lions, and penguins in the ********* Islands. We were delighted with this magical vacation!

      ****************This was an awesome trip to ***** and *********. I learned so much. The people, food, and accommodations were great. Our guide, ********, was knowledgeable, and so willing to help us learn. If you havent been, I suggest you add this tour to your bucket list.

      I enjoyed the tour Best of ***** overall. The food and hotels were great. I particularly enjoyed the first leg of the tour from ****** through ******** along with the side trips to Murano, *******, Assisi, ****. The trips to the ****** Farm and the Winery and the dinners there were the best! I thought the **** tour was ****** scheduled, there was hardly any free time to explore on our own or rest, for that matter. The scheduled Street Food dinner was over the top. It wasn't really street food but appetizers ordered from a restaurant that we ate in the streets. There was too much walking that day and adding that at night was a bit much. The guides were very knowledgeable. Our Tour Director, *********************** was very friendly and patient and did her best to make everyone comfortable.
