Hello I was subscribed to AMC Plus for about two months. My subscription lapsed, because I'm struggling with money, and I was told by the website my subscription had been cancelled. But then AMC Plus attempted to bill me again. I was hoping the issue would resolve itself, but I was billed for a month of the service, which I have now not used since January, and cancelled and asked for a refund.I was denied, saying it was 'policy.' I have been charged for an AMC+ subscription for the last 6 months without my knowledge. I have never used the AMC+ account and the company has record of this. They have charged me a total of ***** and have refused to reimburse me. I called in the past when I first noticed the charges and I was assured the account was never used and that I would be refunded. This never happened and they are now claiming I never spoke to one of their associates. I explained that they would lose me as a customer to both their theaters and shows/movies being streamed across **** and other platforms over a mere $55, and they have still refused my reimbursement. At this point I am complaining for the principle because I cannot believe their customer service over the past two weeks of going back and forth. All they have told me is that the subscription is now cancelled and I will not be billed next month. This is frustrating because A. Why would I be billed next month, I shouldnt have been billed all this time.and B. They are refusing to even acknowledge the money they have taken from me without me using or knowing about this subscription.Business Response

They have continued to tell me the same statement that will not resolve my issue and they are not listening to what I have said as a consumer. AMC theaters and all their services will be losing me as a customer. This is not a good look for them further considering they are facing a class action lawsuit regarding hidden fees.

Will not refund annual subscription charges for subscription that should not have happened, within days of me identifying the mistake. On 10/23/23, was contacted by AMC to offer a discount if I agreed to keep their subscription until September 2024. I accepted the discount and my account was set to cancel at the end of September. When I checked on my account, it said it was cancelled and would not be renewed. A week ago, I received an email that stated my account would renew and higher charges if I did not cancel by 10/1/24. I again checked my account and it stated that it was cancelled and offered no way to cancel again. This morning I was charged $90.80 for a years subscription that I did not authorize and did not want. There is no phone number or live chat to contact their support to get this resolved. I would like this service cancelled and total refund of the $90.80 plus the removal of my credit card information from the database.Customer Answer

Hello,I contact AMC+ customer service many times and they did not resolve my issue at all. They just kept sending me spam email as a result. This is the worst customer service of any streaming app. I requested a full refund for two months of service as the app never worked. They never tried to resolve my issue and I never got a full refund. All streaming apps will give you a refund as a result and have excellent customer service . Despite weekly emails and attempts to get a response from help site at Acorn TV, 1) They are repeatedly billing a defunct credit card in spite of my weekly emails over the past 3 months. 2)I have filed multiple help requests because I cannot access AcornTV account. AMC plus app doesnt work on my laptop, or ********** I have full internet connection, and it says oops something went wrong every time I try and play a series or even a movie. Its should be a scam for even creating and allowing customers to purchase a faulty app with so many bugs. Its like they wanted streaming money from customers but put zero value into the app itself , just takes your money and has no recourse or clear communication with the customer. Ive tried all the online troubleshooting and ******* videos to no avail . I basically paid a year for the AMC plus app and as soon as my 7 day trial ended I never got the app to play a single episode, not one. Then I go on Reddit and see there are hundreds of others in my boat. Sundance Now charged me for two annual subscriptions that I did not authorize. They provided no e-mails stating that I had signed up and provided no receipts via e-mail. I had no idea I had subscribed to the service until I saw a charge for this year on my ******* Mastercard statement. I contacted the company and they refunded one year after much arguing but did not refund the previous two years. I had paid for 7 months of Sundance Now streaming via an app that I paid monthly. I never accessed/used Sundance Now other than those 7 months in 2022 that were paid for. I have attached the previous two years receipts. Note that these receipts were provided to me in the dispute process. They were never mailed to me even though Sundance Now had my e-mail account. ********************** provided no proof that I had ever signed up for the service and no proof that they had ever sent me any receipts. The two remaining annual charges that I would like refunded are attached. One for ******* 2022-23 and one for ******* 2023-24.
