I want to take the lease Car to this dealership (Toyota of Manhattan) for car service on 10/17/2022. I was told I had to pay $300.00 something for AC filter. Car was in great condition with very little Mileage. I did not take money for service charges. I live far from this business and would have to travel by subway with a large wagon full of items in the car. I'm only 4.8" woman. The subway in *** is very dangerous to travel in and the bus would be an inconvenience for everyone involved. A dealer (***********************) suggested for me to Lease a NEW car. In no time I was told I can LEASE a use CAR! He needed to be transparent with me. Now I'm face with only $250.00 for food shopping! I need to exchange the new vehicle to lease a use vehicle. Attachment is included with complaint. I'm a *** ***** Resources Administrator Employee. SNAP ***** Please review to assist. Thank you.

Around 7/30/2022 We purchased a used car from this dealership and we put a deposit and made a 300 mile trip from ******** on a saturday. We specifically asked if there is any thing wrong with the car mechanically before we came we were assured that there is nothing is wrong so we took their word for it being a reputable toyota dealership with decent ratings. My first complaint was being sold an expensive extended warranty without being told about it, no big deal now since it's canceled but that was a headache getting it canceled. We did not test drive the car or get a pre-purchase inspection but as soon as we drove off with our purchase, we heard suspension noises along with warped brakes noises, suspension being the most obvious, and called our sales guy at our rest stop who tried to convince that it was normal being an 8-year-old car. Given that it is a Saturday we didn't go back given that it was getting late and it is a long drive home. We assumed they would take responsibility when we get home but They told us that we need to go back to get it fixed at the same dealership and that wasn't an option at the time since we didn't plan to stay overnight and they are closed Sunday. We get it checked out by a private mechanic when we get home and figured we would pay out of pocket if it was minor but we went to 2 different mechanics who said it is bad shocks and quoted me $1600. We ask if we could get it fixed closer to home and told them what the problem was and they said the "part is not covered". I did not agree to buy a broken car in the first place. We left a ****** review and seems the owner responded but after calling that number I feel like I'm getting played at this point. The number doesn't even go to the dealership and even after I call their main dealership number and asked to get transferred to a manager it goes straight to voicemail every time and they never get returned.

Please be advised that said vehicle was delivered to ***************** in good condition. This issue occurred after he left our dealership. Regardless we asked for the vehicle to be returned to the dealership in an effort to evaluate the situation. We understand that he lives very far, that is no fault of the dealership. Extended warranty purchase is highly recommended to all customers purchasing a preowned vehicle, due to the fact that the manufacturer warranty expires after 3 years/ 36,000 miles which was the case here. Had he kept the warranty his shock diagnosis would have been covered. Regardless, as a good will gesture the dealership is offering a refund of $800.00. Please advise if this offer is acceptable. If so contact *********************** general Manager at ************ and he will process paperwork and refund.

Toyota of Manhattan sent me an email with a custom offer to upgrade my 2020 vehicle for a 2022 vehicle of the same make and model and pay 100 less a month pending the conditions of my car. I called the dealer and asked for details about the offer. They told me it was 100% valid if my car was in excellent conditions and that I had to stop by the dealer to get more details. A few days later I visited the dealership only to find out that they had not inventory of the car I was offered and wanted and that offer was only valid thru August and there was nothing I could do about it. Several days later I received the same offer. The offer does not indicate that it's only valid pending inventory, or only limited quantities are available. I've emailed the manager twice and have yet to receive a response. If they can't order a car for me to make the offer good, I believe this is false advertising.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

When I filed the complaint, I spoke to a general manager who reserved a car for me and told me he'd get back to me within a week or two. It's been months. I call every other day, leave messages in answering machines, and with the receptionist. I've sent dozens of emails and don't receive a response.

Meanwhile, as recently as October 8th, I received another email from the dealer with a new offer to upgrade my car but their site doesn't show any car availability.

How will they honor an offer if they don't have cars, or respond to calls/emails?

Please be advised that ************* is referring to advertising emails. These emails communicate an estimated payment based on her current vehicle trade in value and the purchase of a similar vehicle, based on many factors that need to be reviewed with our staff. ************* was at the dealership on Saturday 10/15/2022 when she was quoted prices based on different scenarios, both of which she declined. Due to a shortage of vehicles in the US it is customary for customers to negotiate a deal on an inbound unit, as was the case with *************. Vehicle in question was due into our facility on or about 11/29/2022. If she is interested in this option, please have her contact *************, general manager at ************. *************** allegations of deception are untrue. *************, purchased said vehicle as a retail purchase. After the sale was agreed upon he divulged the fact that he would be using this as a TLC  (taxi). At that point we advised him that due to this information the Manufacturer would not honor the vehicle warranty. therefore he has 2 options, 1. purchase an extended warranty for $4537.00 or 2. he would have to put 30% down. These options are standard when purchasing a vehicle for TLC purpose.  I hope this clarifies the confusion.

[Your Answer Whatever I written in complaint is true. Before purchasing the vehicle I mentioned to salesman (*********************) that I want vehicle for TLC (taxi). When I refused to buy vehicle with extended warranty then they said me pay $11000 then i dont have to pay extended warranty. As I mentioned in my complaint that it was Saturday & time was about 8:30pm & So i said that I cant manage it right now. Then they said me to pay later on & they will deduct the extended warranty of $4537. After that I visited many times to Toyota of Manhattan to make payment but everytime they made excuses. I am still ready to pay 30% of it. Even I can pay 35% of it. But they dont even want to listen to me whenever I visited Toyota of Manhattan. This is not a confusion & its completely a unfair deal with me

[Your Answer I cleared the issue in my first message. I had been told to purchase the extended warranty of amount $4537 because at that time I paid $1000 as a down payment but at the same time the salesman (juedi) & financer (*****) said to me if I pay $11000 more to the financing bank later on  then the amount of $4537 will be deducted from my total bill. I purchased a vehicle [all cash] with my lifes savings and I have not received the title for the vehicle. They said it will be sent to me. I have called many times. And I was not. I have left many messages with the receptionist, for someone to call me back about the issue. After many calls and messages being left for someone to call me back unanswered, I decided to go back in person to inquire about not receiving the title. I asked I speak to the manager. The workers looked into my situation and said the *** was presenting an issue with the release of the car title. They said they will get the issue fixed. I waited and later they told me they fixed the issue with the *** and that I will receive the title to the vehicle soon. Its been months since that visit. I began to call again. And again, I have not had anyone call me back.I am a taxi driver and the sole purpose I purchased this vehicle was/is for work. And because I have no title to the vehicle, I cannot use the vehicle. I have to take the title to the **** otherwise they wont accept the car. I am a taxi driver and this car is for my lively hood -occupation and I have not been able to use this car. Because I cannot register the car to the *** without the tile. Also, I have been paying automobile vehicle monthly insurance since the date of purchase 09/21/2021 ($284) for a vehicle I cannot use for work/get registered with the ***.

Please be advised that ************* is absolutely correct. We were having a terrible time securing a title from the ************** for this vehicle as it was a diplomatic title. We have since secured the title and it has been sent to DMV, we are awaiting the title and registration no later than 8/1/2022. I will be following up with this issue. Customer can call me directly for any other inquiries. Once we receive paperwork we will call and over night documents.

Toyota of Manhattan broke my approximately $300 Prius 2009 key fob on June 1 when I brought it to the parts department by incorrectly opening it to replace the battery. The older of two parts employees broke it by pulling the back cover off; the younger employer then took it to the service department which explained the back had been incorrectly removed and that the four screws on the other side should have been unfastened instead. The older parts employee then stripped one of the four screws; failing to correctly open the fob, he returned it to me, with a new battery he would not let me pay for, presumably so I would have no record to prove what he'd done. These fobs cost around $300. My doorman was able to glue the back cover back on after inserting the new battery but it will not start my car remotely. The parts employee appears to have damaged the battery mounting. Despite texting the dealer every day from Thursday to Monday -- they do not answer the phone -- no one has called me to fix the problem they created. And this is the only fob I have so it is rather critical. The picture I am submitting shows the battery no longer fits properly.

Please be advised that we have no ************** or parts history on *********************. We questioned the staff on said complaint and no one recalls this incident. Please supply us with proof of incident.
