On February 2, 2023 I purchased oil from Dial Discount Fuel aka S&S Fuel and paid $407.55 for 100 gallons of heating oil. The purchase was made online through **************** Because this is a rental unit with multiple oil tanks on the property, I specified which oil tank was to be filled. I received a confirmation email of my order that included the added instructions to guide the delivery driver to the correct tank. Delivery was scheduled for the next day on February 3 2023. The next day, by the time I realized that the oil truck had arrived, the driver was already at the wrong tank. I quickly knocked on the window to get his attention and told him he was on the wrong side of the property. I told him the correct tank was on the right side as I had stated on my order. The man rudely said he didn't see any instructions and started moving the hose to the correct tank. He called the oil company and they in turn called me. I explained to the representative what had occurred. She confirmed that the instructions concerning the tank location were on the order. The driver had already placed 15 gallons in the wrong tank. The representative told me that I would receive the full 100 gallons in the correct tank, as this was the driver's error. I was contacted by the representative on numerous occasions on the days following the delivery asking if the landlord or other tenant would pay for the 15 gallons, i.e. the driver's mistake. I spoke with the landlord and they were not willing to pay, stating that they did not order oil from them and this was fully the company's mistake. I was mailed an outstanding bill for $61.13 for 15 gallons. I am being unfairly charged for a company employee's error and should not be held liable. I received and paid for 100 gallons and anything else is not my responsibility.
