Contractor was hired to repair/remove/reinstall new tile/stone floor in a shower and install a new tile/stone kitchen backslash. Contractor never completed the kitchen backsplash which required sealing and installed broken tiles that I thought were going to be removed from the 12 X 12 squares and replaced at the time of installation. The shower floor which was a no step floor was not pitched correctly causing the water to run away from the drain and out into the bathroom instead of down the drain. This shower floor tile was also supposed to be sealed to which it never was by the contractor. I tried numerous times to get this work addressed to no avail. I took the contractor to small claims court in the city of Rochester to get back money paid out to the contractor and for the costs of repair work to either finish or redo his work. I was granted the award from the City of Rochester Court Judge and won the case. I was to be awarded a judgement due to me by November 24, 2021 and have not been paid. I tried reaching out the contractor to see if he needed anymore time to pay the judgement, with no response back from him. I am taking further actions to ensure no one else has to go through what I did with this contractor. Please be aware before hiring this contractor. You also will have a hard time recovering any monies owed/won/due to you from a small claims court case due to there is not much protection to the homeowner once your awarded the case to recover your money if they don't pay. The Contractor would have to have some type of assets for you to go after them, such as a home, to which this contractor does not. Anyways, Please be aware of this contractor and his workmanship. Hopefully this will save someone else the aggravation I went through with him.
