This company was assigned to me through a NYSERDA grant that I was awarded for my home. I received new glass block windows. I did not need any additional insulation in my home. I had a new electric hot water tank installed. It was defective. I notified the contact person i had been working with, Evan about the tank not working properly. He sent service personel over to try to diagnose what the issue was. After the second visit of the technician, it was decided the control board would need to be replaced. The warranty folks had it sent to my home, I notified Evan when it arrived. The service personel came back, installed it. Still not working properly. Third time they were to come back, my son stepped in to assist me because I was out of town. They told him they were bringing a new tank to be installed. That did not happen. They refused to go the route of using the warranty process & install a new hot water tank. I received txt msg from Evan stating that they would not deal with my son & no follow up from them. I contacted an HVAC company & they worked with the warranty Co & changed out the tank. The hvac company took care of the warranty paperwork. I sent the to bill I received for the changeout & received an email back from Evan stating he (Hughsco) will not be paying the bill. Sadly this company is taking advantage of the NYSERDA program to benefit themselves. I was awarded a large grant $. Hughsco did not provide any follow through & very deceptive. I do not recommend this company!
