9/31/2023 This recovery/towing company tower my car (my fault parking i an cvs parking lot to long for dinner across the road) When attempting to call and ask for info on getting my car, they couldnt confirm they had it for 5 minutes i was told $123.0 price over the phone they claimed to want the the lot was $151 claimed to be cash only- there website show CC and Debit options - no ATM nearby *had to walk 2 miles* dirty and dangerous parking lot full or beer cara and even drug needles. i believe they took gas from my gas tank , i had just filled up my tank prior to parking and had half a tank when retrieving my car. very rude on the phone and little to no respect for customers their DOT and business address are not the same they only have 1 registered driver yet operate multiple trucks the employees i talked to blamed the owner for discrepancies and did not agree with his operations yet called it a job when i questioned them on practices i strongly believe this company needs to be stopped in their tracking- the number of ******, ****, ******, ********, bbb reports prove this company is more than just a normal tow company that ppl may regret dealing with, the company is no good and deserve no authority or ability to operate in NYS!

My vehicle was towed by Tow Busters towing. No indication that my vehicle has been towed. My husband and I go to the address listed, very confusing to figure out where to go. No one was there to speak with. We called and someone said they would be there in about 10 minutes. The man that showed up was very unprofessional. We were informed it was cash only, luckily my husband had found that was the case online prior to getting there. The price was $150. We were informed credit was not accepted and no change could be made. As we needed the vehicle, we paid $200 since we didn't have change. No proof of ownership was confirmed before we were able to take our vehicle or that we even had a valid drivers license (we do). Overall, very unprofessional experience and it cost us an extra $50 since no change was given.

Parked in the lot to run across the street on park Ave to get my food. Was waiting for it to finish being prepared and when I went to retrieve my car it had been towed. Parked next to a friend and they didn't touch their car. Car was towed for less than 40 minutes time and cost $151.20. Utterly ridiculous!!!! This company should be shut down for their illegal practices. I will be seeking restitution through the courts if this is not resolved in a suitable means. Signs posted say you can park and get reimbursement from neighboring stores and restaurants. Shut this place down!!!!!!!!!!

My vehicle was parked in a spot that was not marked as a “do not park” spot. i have video footage of a tow truck sitting behind me waiting to take my car once i walked away. towbusters employee confirmed the parking lot owner sits in his apartment with binoculars waiting for someone to park so he can tow. they are an only cash business which is illegal in NYS for the business they are. they claimed they can only take cash because *** was down, working in a major automotive business in NYS i know that was a lie, as i use the *** system daily. this incident occurred 7/23 and this complaint was filed same day.

Our car was towed out of a paid lot, there was no notice posted of where the car was taken. When i arrived, they told me they would not take my credit cards and would only give me our car back if i gave them cash (despite there being no ATM onsite) and suggested we walk late at night to find an atm. My children’s car seats were in the car so i had no choice. They would not let my friend walk with me to my car, they forced me to walk through a dark lot in a bad area alone late at night to search for my vehicle. When my friend insisted that did not feel safe they got in her face and screamed at her.

Took my car from my workplace lot while I was at work, with a valid reason to be on the property. Singled out simply because I'm not from the area. Called the number, and the guy began telling me he would murder me. The police were notified and said just go pick your car up, they know about this guy and his bs. There is video footage of me being at work in a valid spot. Clown only took cash and then threw a receipt at me and spit at me. Took every muscle in my body not to knock his teeth down his throat. Worthless organization, scam practices. I bet someone responds to this with some clueless response. Notice how everyone just magically parks in a fire lane? Probably did damage to my vehicle that I don't even know about yet. Trash company.

BBB spoke to the business owner and the following was relayed:They were illegally parked at a business and towed.  They were charged accordingly.  We never spit, told him anything like he alleges or any of that.  He was parked illegally, towed, charged.

Better Business Bureau: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Surely a legitimate documented business such as yours would have a description of the lot, the contact number of the person who contacted you to tow my vehicle, and not just have some spotter see an out of state vehicle come in. Instead it was just "parked illegally", well please define that. Then please afterwards explain why the police, Google reviews, and multiple BBB complaints all suggest the exact same experience I had. Obviously everyone isn't just stumbling upon the one company that tends to treat everyone like garbage. The irony in this situation is I don't expect anything productive from this unprofessional joke of a company. They bring disgrace to the name of towing. It just adds fuel to the fire when hopefully the state shuts them down for their poor business practices. And for when the person doesn't restrain themselves and beats the absolute crap out of one of your drivers. Regards, ******* *******

I met my wife for dinner and both of our cars were towed from the lot where we parked. When we arrived at the address, the entrance was a chain-linked fence off a side street and was extremely poorly-lit. There was a phone number to the business but no one on-site. We had our two small children on a night that was 20 degrees and had to wait 20 minutes for an attendant to arrive. If I didn’t have an understanding **** driver we would have been out in the cold. They expected me to pay cash but there was no ATM on site and no banks or businesses with ATMs. I was forced to use a credit card and even though they only swiped the card once, they charged me $6/car towed for a total fee if $12 on top of the $150/car towing fee. I had no choice but pay the fee or they would’ve just literally left me out in the cold. When I voiced my concern his response was “well, you should’ve paid the $2 for parking”. The person who ran my card did not offer a receipt. I have attached a screenshot of my pending credit card transaction. They don’t serve the people whose cars were towed and they know it. Since they have our cars they have all the power and they know it so they treat “customers” like garbage.

Towbusters scours the city looking for any and all cars. Parked in a parking lot with signs ALL OVER. There were signs on the dumpster and NONE on the entire area where I parked. I was towed in an area where I have never had an issue. Was told $150 and never a different price. When to pick up and it was $150 cash or if I wanted to use a card it had an outrageous fee. Completely disgusting practices. I was told that if i wanted to avoid his slimy tactics to park on the street only since they “own” most of the lots downtown. ******** ridiculous and insane that they literally patrol nonstop to ticket people. I parked in a lot of a business I planned to patron but was unable to due to the fact that my car was GONE without a trace. On top of that there were plenty of other cars left in the area. Picks and chooses who to tow. I have video proof of where I parked having no signage in the entire row whereas ALL OTHER areas were CLEARLY marked. Slimy and sneaky business tactics. ***** will come around and he better be ready.

Response taken by phone:  We are hired by the property owner and if they want the car towed we comply.   Some of the cars in the lot are permitted to park there.
