Due to the incompetence and mismanagement of this agency I find myself without any homeowners insurance and with NO possibility of getting any whatsoever. I live near the water on ** North Shore where only a few companies are willing to write policies. I went to Coastal in 2021 seeking a more affordable policy than what I had with *****. They found coverage with PURE. In 2024 the policy came up for renewal with an increase of over $7000 to a whopping $22,000 for a $25K deductible. They never gave me a reason for the increase. I called Coastal to see if there was anything that could lower the premium. After raising the deductible to $50K and lowering some of the other coverage it was reduced by $3000 -apparently this was the best that could be done. When I went to the PURE payment website, the old amount was still there. I called Coastal and they said they would take care of it. After several days, I checked again and the new amount was on the portal but it included an additional $2500. I again called Coastal to question that amount. Days went by before I got an email explanation. I was getting very nervous about a lack of communication and being given no reasons for the increase in premium. Finally I called PURE directly only to find out that the policy had been cancelled for non-payment. When I was not able to pay through the website and I had questions about other charges, Coastal agents assured that they were taking care of it. I stupidly believed them. I paid the $2500 surcharge and was up to date on all of the previous policy payments. I asked PURE to reinstate the policy. They emailed me that Coastal would be working with the underwriters. Later that day I got a brief email from Coastal informing me that my request for reinstatement had been denied and that they could not help me getting any insurance. I have gotten no explanation from PURE as to why it was denied. I trusted Coastal to provide professional service and this is the sad result.
