Scam. Called them because I was desperate because nobody else could come out Sunday evening. paid $424 for 2 hours. The day AFTER the service, I found JUST as much my kids hair as she found the day before. Her hair should have at least improved. I ended up using *** on my own and I reached out to customer service who simply did nothing to remedy the situation. They wanted to send a provider out to get rid of the lice but I already did that on my own. Poor service. Poor results. Poor customer service. If you see good reviews, its because they ask you to leave a review during treatment before they leave your house. So you dontLiceDoctors

I apologize you had a poor experience with our services. We are committed to providing great service and fully eradicating the lice! I do see that we offered to have a different technician return to your home and retreat you for free without any cost according to our 30-day guarantee but that this service was refused. Please recontact our customer service team and we would be more than happy to send someone out to make sure you are fully taken care of. *** can be temporarily effective, but the nits will have to be removed in order to make sure the lice do not return. We are committed to making sure you no longer have to deal with lice, and I apologize again that you had a poor experience, we are addressing it with the technician who originally serviced you.Review fromCaley R

Tech showed up and hour late and then we were charged $410 dollars for 59 minutes of work. The website is misleading and dishonest, stating a small outbreak is $199 and they are hourly.LiceDoctors

I apologize you felt like you had a poor experience. Because our technician was 50 miles from your home we charge a 2 hour minimum in order for them to travel to your home. You should have been informed of that at the time of booking. This two-hour minimum for a 50-mile travel distance is standard pricing for us and is the reason why you were charged $410. Our $199 pricing applies if you are within 30 miles of your technician. If you have concerns please reach out to our customer service team and they would be happy to assist you.Review fromAvy S

Do not use them. They booked a service, took my credit card info then never showed up! The appointment was for 6pm and when I called at 6:30 I was told I would receive a call back. I called again at 7pm on a school night to be told they “don’t service my area” and she hung up on me! No idea what happens now with my credit card and my texts were unanswered. Seems fraudulent.LiceDoctors

I apologize that our technician never arrived and that you had a poor experience with our team. We are doing our best to address those issues and make sure that when you schedule with us you are fully covered and don't have to worry about your lice anymore! I looked into your case and can see that the initial authorization hold we place on your credit card at the time of the appointment was successfully voided on 12/16/24 at 5:35 pm. That should have reflected in your account by now. I apologize for the misunderstanding and hope you were able to be successfully treated elsewhere.Review fromCaroline M

A gentleman came to the house at 7 pm the day the school called. I was a bit shocked it was a man without warning. He also spent 5 hours at my house. My 5 yr old did not go to bed until 10 pm. The total bill was over $900. The most confusing part is the different follow *** you are supposed to do. The tech says one thing and the documentation says another. On the website it says your anxiety will be lessened once they are there but mine was not. He was combing my daughters hair and looking with his light but not teaching me what to look for. He didnt show me what a bit looked like and he said I didnt have to treat my bedding. Im frustrated.LiceDoctors

I'm sorry to hear there was some confusion regarding your appointment and the follow-up plan, and that we weren't able to successfully reduce your anxiety about the situation. I've asked my customer service team to reach out to you to clarify any questions you may have about the follow-up plan, and to make sure you are fully equipped to make sure those pesky lice do not return! We will also check in with the technician to ensure they are fully aware of the protocol and are fully prepared to help future clients with any questions they may have about how to treat lice. The technician was correct in saying that if you strictly follow the follow-up plan you received that there is no need to treat bedding. The follow-up plan will ensure that any lice are fully eradicated (though we of course understand that washing the bedding can provide additional peace of mind)! We are fully committed to making sure you and your family are 100% lice free, unfortunately if the case is more severe, or the hair is particularly long or thick it can take quite awhile to make sure the lice are fully removed. If you have any additional questions or concerns please don't hesitate to reach out to our customer service team. Our customer service team is made up of former technicians who can answer any questions or concerns you have and hopefully help you gain some of that peace of mind!Review fromJulie W

My college age daughter called to schedule an appointment under the impression that it would be under $200. She called back & specifically said that she would not be able to afford the service if it were to cost more than the 200$ fee listed on the website & requested the appt be canceled. They canceled the appt & then later the same day, they took an unauthorized payment of $368 from her debit. This is very sketchy & wrong!LiceDoctors
Date: 04/30/2024
When your daughter first called and scheduled an appointment an authorization was put on the card, your daughter was informed that we always put a minimum of a $368 hold on a card, but that the final charge would be calculated after the appointment and could be as low as $199 if the appointment took an hour or less. The temporary $368 hold is similar to a temporary hold/authorization that occurs when you visit a hotel, go to the gas station, etc. When your daughter then called us back to cancel the appointment the authorization was removed and your daughter was not charged at all. I have reviewed our records and can confirm that no one was ever charged any amount for the card that was provided to us. We have treated thousands of customers and have decades of experience in treating lice. We are sorry that we were not the right fit for your daughter and hope she was able to effectively treat any lice.Review fromAlisha B

Great idea, but they never showed. Was told technician had medical emergency then told the only technician in my area had a family emergency. Whatever the reason I get things happen. What I dont get is why I now have to wait for the $348 charge to my card to be voided. I have to watch and wait a few days for that to happen. Maybe dont charge for a service unless you actually do it?LiceDoctors
Date: 09/27/2023
The charge is not actually put through. It is there for a hold as with a hotel reservation to secure your reservation. The money is not withdrawn from your account and that number will disappear today or tomorrow. We are sorry for the inconvenience.Review fromJulie B

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! I honestly could not emphasize that more. They are a joke. They are overpriced compared to others in the area. Their techs are not knowledgeable about lice or how to get rid of it. When their services didnt work they would only request pictures instead of help take care of the situation. The tech couldnt answer any questions about lice. She pored large amounts of oil in our hair. Got it on our floor and furniture and didnt bother to clean it up or apologize. She was very unprofessional. Save yourself money and stress. Contact someone else.LiceDoctors

*****,The customer service representative you spoke with, ********, states that you have requested a refund, but have not provided any photos to substantiate a credit or re-check following the services you received. Please understand that our guarantee is a lice free guarantee, not a money back guarantee. Seeking treatment elsewhere does not entitle you to a refund - this was acknowledged by your initials on the proof of visit form and is outlined on our website detailing the guarantee. In addition, if you seek out other professional services, we do not accept outside diagnoses of head lice from other companies. In the past, we have seen numerous cases of mis-diagnosed head lice. If you find something that you think is head lice, or have other concerns, please send us pictures so we can confirm and determine how to best assist you. When you called, we understand that you were angry because we asked for photos. That is our process and is the only way to determine that what you are seeing are lice. We are sorry that you were not pleased with your service.Review fromLisa K

They did come out quickly and were friendly, which is why they got any stars- we were desperate! However the receipt we got does not actually accurately reflect what they did. About half of the things listed were not done. Very expensive. And the tech contradicted her own advise a few times, and gave us a follow up worksheet which was completely different from what she told us. The service is something we could have just looked ** in a ****** search and done ourselves. Im hoping the service helped, (still working on it- its not done in one day) but when I had questions I called both the tech and the company a few times over 3 days and never received a response, despite the techs promise to respond quickly.Wishing I had read other reviews before using them.LiceDoctors

SUCH A SCAM!!! LiceDoctors FALSELY ADVERTISES on their website in 3 different places that they completely "eradicate" super lice in 1 visit by 1) applying oil 2) doing a full comb-out and nit-pick and 3) re-applying a "final" coat of oil. After reading this, I booked a same-day visit. They charged me $338 to hold my appt, then briefly explained they apply OLIVE OIL, and I'd need to reapply a few more times. The tech (*****) was kind - but she used the same hairbrush on my head after brushing through my daughter's hair (infested with lice). Their phoneline states they bring all supplies needed, but you have to use your own bath towels, all follow-up olive oil, and additional shower caps. Plan to buy new clothes, new pillows, new sheets, and new blankets because the oil will ruin everything!! We had intentions to keep the oil in for at least 8hrs, so I searched online for ways to manage the oily mess, but I could only find that olive oil does not work to kill lice - so we gave up. Next morning, we went to LCA, where that tech combed out over 50 eggs out of my hair! I sent a photo to LiceDoctors and requested a refund because ***** did not do a thorough comb-out on me. (Did she transfer lice into my hair by using the same hairbrush?) ********, LiceDoctors supervisor, reviewed my photos and stated they were not eggs; she insulted me by accusing me of contaminating the water bowl with coffee grounds or other debris to mimic eggs. I repeatedly asked for my money back because their website guarantees they will eradicate (destroy completely) lice in 1 day, but they do no such thing. ******** insists they offer a professional treatment, but in reality, they show you how to perform a home remedy. LiceDoctors: My final cost was $442 - for a home remedy that did not work. LCA: $370 for 2 heads - and we were 100% lice-free in less than 1 hour. Do not use LiceDoctors! They rip off vulnerable people who are in the midst of feeling desperate. Completely unethical.LiceDoctors

*****, We are sorry that you were not satisfied with your service. We reviewed the photos that you sent and we did not find nits. We have many years experience looking at nits and are confident in our judgment. You may have read on the Internet that olive oil does not work but we have eradicated over ******* cases and I assure that our physician-developed plan is effective. We also state that our simple follow-up is effective, which is true. Since we had removed the nits, I have no doubt that if you went elsewhere, they could claim that you would not see anything further in the hair. Also, if you put a towel across the pillow case, you certainly do not need to replace bedding. Im sorry that you were not satisfied with your treatment.Review fromCindy R

They charge 400 for two hours but pay their workers an hourly rate of 30 per hour. Reviews get them 15 more dollars. The technicians do a good job but they are not being compensated for the risk of them catching it after paying so much money for the company to send the technician! Terrible way to treat your employees! Zero stars! Do not recommend employment or the services.LiceDoctors
Date: 03/07/2023
Im not sure from where you get your information but your facts are incorrect. The compensation that you cite for our technicians, first of all is wrong; we pay more than that than that per hour and second, we pay at the highest end of the pay spectrum. Second, you mentioned the risks of catching head lice,. That is also incorrect. We send our technicians out with safeguards so that they do not catch lice. In fact, in our many years of doing business, we have only had two technicians get head lice, and that was because they didnt follow the protection protocols. Third, since you dont know the inner workings of our business, you would have no way of estimating how much we pay for insurance, advertising, website management, administrative costs, recruiting costs, and the list goes on and on. We are happy that you mentioned that your technician did a good job because that is what we strive for.
