When I started going to Lexie Auto Repairs, I was told only cash transactions. My payments were not properly or accurately recorded. When I first came in, I asked what was causing the check engine light. They asked me for $150 to diagnose problems and I paid this. I was told that the only problem was the spark plugs & discs in bad condition. Once this was done, I was told that the timing set needed to be changed & then the oil pump. Each time I returned they told me they changed something else & charged more. 9/20- Engine light still on 9/21- Went to Lexie with my girlfriend, ***** *****. We were told the time belt sensor was installed day before, & that they needed to fix the timing set next. 9/23- Paid total of $1296 for spark plugs & alternator. 9/24- Went to drop off the car again. Timing job was $1893.49- only receipt that was willingly provided. 10/12- Picked up the car again. By 10/13, engine light was on again. Left the car again 10/22. 10/26- Girlfriend paid an additional $200, no invoice. 10/31 - The owner falsely claimed he previously told me the engine might need replacement, which was not communicated before. Each visit, I was told the issue was fixed, but the engine light stayed on. Requesting a detailed invoice met resistance, delays, and police threats before it was provided. Invoice contained many inaccuracies, including claim that I had been informed car may need a new engine, and claim that I owed $461.41. I was told that they did not remember my girlfriend having paid $200, and at this time I had already paid $3100 in total. On 11/5, I took the car to *********** ***. They found issues with Lexie’s work, including unnecessary/incorrect repairs. *** completed additional needed work, totaling $1408.77. 11/19 - *** rep ******** confirmed only 1 timing chain was listed/installed per Lexie docs; other missing parts not in car; receipts lacked part numbers. He called it negligent to omit part numbers/details. Docs attached: Timing Set 1 & 2.
