I had guardian electric install a new breaker box in April. Upon changing out an outlet in my kitchen I found it was tied into a double 30 amp breaker and the ground was hot. It was wired using three wire which is unconventional, but was hooked up correctly in the old box. When the installer pulled the wires he didn't mark them and hooked them up incorrectly in the new box. Upon calling guardian, he refused to correct the problem. I'm now left with ungrounded outlets on a 30 amp breaker, necessitating repairs that he won't take responsibility for. It would have taken a guy 5 minutes and an $8 breaker. They also left the wires running into the box pretty messy, even after I had to tell him not to run wires underneath the floor joist. In response to Guardians reply: The only thing unsafe is how you wired the breaker to my outlets. You put one line of 20 amp outlets on a double 30 amp breaker and created a dangerous situation of having a hot ground. I'm lucky my house didn't burn down, or worse, someone got hurt from your mistakes. As a firefighter, I know how dangerous shoddy wiring can be. No competent electrician would put 20A outlets on a 30A breaker. The fact that you are arguing this point is insane and scary. It was obviously not labeled when pulled out of the old box, and wired as a 220. You did not offer to come out immediately. You're exact words were "I could send someone out next week but I'd have to charge you." Yes, come out later in the week and charge me to fix his improper and unsafe installation. Nor did I use any vulgarities until he harassed me over the phone for HOURS. Sent me pictures of someone else's breaker panel and insisted it was mine. Extremely unprofessional, rude, childish, and now he is blatantly lying. Now he is publicly posting my phone number and stating I'm a firefighter like he's going to shame me into something. Not to mention publicly posting someone's personal information is illegal. Another issue I will have to resolve.
