I went to this office to get my daughter's wisdom tooth out and from past experience I made sure to ask before the appt to be informed of any out of pocket costs. We had to reschedule because they never got back to me & 2 days before the 2nd appt when they called to remind me about the appt I told her that no one called about the insurance. She assured me they would call. The day before the surgery when no call I called again. I was told that our insurance would cover everything except $110 for panoramic x-rays. I called my dentist who emailed me panoramic x-rays. We arrived 30 minutes b4 the appt and waited over an hour to be seen. I also now realize after going to another office that we’d never had a consultation and was never informed of the pre-surgery protocol. When we were called they told me the insurance didn't cover some other procedure. I was shocked and it again felt like they were searching to find out of pocket expenses. I asked how this could be, turns out it wasn’t. I was quite frustrated at the nonchalance about my money,unprofessionalism,customer service and I said so. Then DR ****** **** appeared and accused me of screaming. I was calm and continued to try and explain my frustration. He never once apologized for the multiple screw ups, miscommunication, lack of communication. I asked for an apology but he said we wouldn’t be seen. When I insisted on being seen because of the time that passed from the multiple appts (3 months/their fault) &that my daughter needed this surgery plus we missed work and school, he threatened to call the police on me and my17 year old and told me that he would be pressing charges for trespassing. I should mention that I am a black woman and that I noticed that there were ABSOLUTELY NO BLACK EMPLOYEES. And I do believe ****** ****’s behavior was directly associated with my race because as a black woman - as all black women know - a common form of discrimination against black women is to label them as aggressive and loud.
