    I was going to give Roy’s a no- star rating but I had to leave at least one star before I could summit my review. I’m writing this review for my mother, who’s 86 yrs old, who was having problems with her thermostat. The kid who came out to take a look said she needed a part replaced on her furnace, $2400 (of course it was only going to last a yr or two) or she had “options” of getting a whole new furnace and air conditioner. One of the options was $11,000! After canceling her installation of a new furnace (she totally was taken advantage of) she got a second opinion. The second opinion told her there was NOTHING WRONG with her heating and air system. Even the part that Roy’s wanted to replace was fine. I don’t know how the Roys employees sleep at night! Total rip off! After talking with others about the situation comes to find out that this is not uncommon of Roy’s to oversell and over charge. Never again!

    First I must admit that both the dispatchers and technicians, as well as the lawyers were professional, well trained and did what they were instructed to do. In order to avoid too much opinion creep, I will outline the steps of my call sticking to the facts. Two years and one day after installation of a replacement furnace, it decided overnight on a Friday to quit working. Reviewing the furnace it was lighting but not blowing air. The sticker on the side said Stop, this may be under warranty! and gave Roy's number promising 24/7 availability. As there is a wheelchair bound person and a young child in the house I call Roy's to service the equipment they installed. Upon reaching the dispatcher I am promptly told that someone could come out but the rate for this to happen is significantly higher than the normal rate which is a premium rate to begin with. I could wait till the following Monday to have service if I choose. Given the occupants and the fact this happened mid-winter I was willing to pay the premium to avoid a potentially dangerous situation. I was told to firmly acknowledge the after hours rate on the phone before we could proceed (Lawyer advise I would imagine). Having done so, an appointment was arranged and true to their agreement the tech showed up as scheduled. After reviewing the equipment , the tech concluded that the fan motor failed. I was told (and already knew) that the parts would be covered but not the labor. I was given two quotes, one including a service contract that reduced but did not eliminate the service call and a standard one. Both repairs carried a stiff installation fee. I had to sign multiple items only two i got copies of. But the tech did not have the motor, nor was it available. That meant the premium paid to avoid a bad situation was wasted. They said they had heaters but cost? They did finally fix the furnace. I paid 10% the cost of a furnace for a "Warranted" repair. Fair and reasonable or did they take advantage? You decide

    Excellent service from start to finish. Nick, HVAC tech, identified major problems and then Joe, comfort tech, visited and took great care in determining what we needed to do with our heating system; he offered us several options. The installation techs, Matt, Clint, Joel, Chris, and two others who replaced our heating system were knowledgeable and careful with their work, and took time to explain everything. An excellent team, overall. Will use Roy's again!

    I had Jeff work with setting up an appointment to do a big job for me. He was very thorough to make a plan for this big job. Very grateful for his help. Have had Roy’s for over 5 years. Have had Jeff do other work for me which I’m very satisfied with.

    Roy’s Installed a new hot water tank and did a sloppy job. The installer Jack failed to tighten all the gas line piping and only hand turned to tighten. Ridiculous and unacceptable workmanship. The gas was leaking and had to call ******** Fuel to fully tighten all the piping connections. If you value your life and a less on learned from the PA house explosion - don’t hire Roy’s for Hot Water tank installation. I expected honesty and quality and when I called to voice my displeasure - the management just keeps beating around the bushes - makes excuses to cover up the ****** job their installer Jack did.
