I purchased a Culligan HE Water Softener and have had problems with it for 5 years since we got it. In Nov 2021 Culligan Head Quarters had the Troy office come and replace a part. This fixed the water softener for 5 months and the issue represented itself. All of these inquiries are documented with Culligan and I feel that this Water Softener has been faulty since day 1. Just as when it was fixed the softener worked for several months and stopped. A horrible odor presented in my water which we has the Well tested by NYS and there was nothing, we changed the anoid rod in the hot water tank and no change. Culligans solution was to run bleach through the system which has been done many times in the last 4 years. I have a Culligan tech on video showing me how to bleach it myself. When the system is bleached the smell is gone for 3 to 4 months. They agree if it were my well that the smell would return instantly. I also have hard water stains in toilets which should not occur with a water softener. I have given Culligan many opportunities to correct this issue and have asked several times for a new system. I feel they know this system us faulty as a tech had advised that there were many issues with this he water softener.Business response

I spoke with Mrs. ******** today and we agreed to removing the existing water softener and replacing it with different water treatment equipment that may better serve her needs, she was completely accepting of this resolution a service call has been scheduled for 8/19Initial Complaint

I understand the problems businesses have with help the past few years but I have been dealing with Culligan of Troy NY for many years. I have a service contract with them wherein I pay a monthly fee to make sure I have salt and my Culnu system is working properly because I have minerals in my water which causes erosion of my pipes. In the past two years they have reneged on almost every confirmed appt I had for delivery and service. In the past 3 weeks I have been left without service or my salt delivery! I was promised a service call yesterday and another no show! I have a pool that is getting messed up because of the untreated water and I had a plumber here because I have no water pressure and he said the problem was with the Culligan system. They have not returned any of my phone calls inspite of them knowing the position I’m in. I’m very disappointed in them and considering legal action if I find out my pipes have been damaged because of their neglect.Business response

We have contacted Ms. ********* who represents Mrs. ****** and have agreed to reimburse her for an invoice given to her by ******* fuel for repairs made to the hot water boiler system in her home. Regarding any delivery concerns we recognize as a company that we have to overcome certain challenges and are working very diligently to meet and exceed the expectations that our customers demand and when we have not met those expectations we are always willing to except that responsibility and doing what is necessary to provide a fair and reasonable resolution.Initial Complaint

I may a monthly service charge of nearly $80 I am supposed to get 6 bags of salt delivered as well. They hate not bringing the salt deliveries and every time you call they want to talk to the manager. Then they state the manager will call you back and they never do. This has been going on for over 6 months.Business response

I spoke directly with Ms. ****** and addressed her concerns . I have updated the delivery instructions on her account to read "must leave 6 bags of salt" I also scheduled a service appointment for 5/31/22 to perform annual service on all of her equipment and provided her with my email address in the event she is unable to contact us by phone.Customer response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I will continue to see how this company stands by their word. I have been promised things and apologized to before with them. But actions speak louder than words. We will see.
