Atlas James construction was to start a job for me, remodeling my bathroom, on October 23, 2023. I paid them a deposit of $7500 and check form which they cashed. They didn’t show up on October 23. They didn’t call on October 23. On October 24 I called them. They said they’ve been accident. So we agreed to a tentative new date of November 6, 2023. That day came and again, no-show, no call. I called them and was told that the person that I needed to speak with was out doing estimates for more jobs. And that this person would call me back. They did not. I began to call daily, unable to reach a human, leaving a message each time. I went down in person, and was told someone would call me. I sent a couple emails that were not answered. Finally, I sent an email mentioning that I would get a lawyer. That email was quickly responded to. By this time all I want is my money back. The email that was responded to was from the owner, and he said he would call me the following Monday. He did not. I sent another email. He said they were dealing with a tragedy he would call me. Again he did not. I sent two more emails, telling him that he doesn’t need to speak with me, he just needs to return my money. Nothing. There was a cell phone number attached to the email, I texted that. No response I left a review on ****** and ****. I really cannot afford. Just let them have $7500. I need my bathroom worked on, but I don’t want them doing it. They keep talking about a tragedy. But they are out doing estimates for more jobs.
