On 12/26/******** was called by my Uncle living at ***************************************** to file a complaint against Ace Group NY Corp doing construction next door at ******************************** and DOB where alerted about the matter and responded to the complaint. The responding officer instructed my Uncle to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. This is the complaint I am filing on his behalf. The construction activities at 372 ******** over the past 2 years have caused extensive damage to our property at ********************************, this complaint pertains to recent activities. Currently their excavation and foundation work is encroaching upon our property and they are digging beneath and crossing the boundary of the backyard fence to *** ******** *** Appeals to stop were ignored, prompting the complaints to NYPD and DOB. Additionally: their construction is damaging parts of our driveway in the front of the house; their worksite is not kept orderly and there is often trash found stuck between our fences or strewn about in front of *** ******** (our property); and their vehicles and equipment regularly block access to our driveway, employees or either slow to respond or blatantly ignore requests to allow access. Finally, in September 2023 there was a verbal agreement for Ace Group NY Corp to repair damages to our exterior wall before resuming their construction. However, construction has resumed and there has been no actions taken toward repairing the wall that is evident to us or has been communicated to my Uncle. I have taken steps to repair the wall on my own. However, my request for information on their building plans to formalize our own repairs have not been answered. We would also need access to their worksite for a day or two in order to physically complete the repair. While we wait for their responses *** ******** remains poorly insulated due to the previous damage and is therefore colder than usual, causing undue suffering for the elderly resident of the home.
