New car safety inspection, waited 2.5 hrs dispite appt., dealership insisted that my safety inspection would failed due to wipers, insisted that I needed all 3 wipers replaced for $25 plus 2 filters for $100. Knew filters were not needed to pass inspection but they insisted that my wipers would failed. At check-out, I was charged not $25 for 3 wipers but $22.95 each, totaling $49.74, but unexpectedly without explanation they only replaced 2 wipers, I asked for original wipers back. New wipers provided by dealership already failing. Surprised me with 5% surcharge at check-out for credit card use even though, no signs posted anywhere in the shop, pressuring customers to pay cash. *** inspector confirmed the original wipers were in good condition and should not have been reason for them to fail inspection, but they lied to inspector that customer requested to replace wipers. No reason customer would ask dealership to replace good wipers in a new car during safety inspection unless lied to by dealership employees. Went back later for free maintenance provided for new cars and again was told I needed to change my filters for $100 before they even checked that I had already changed my filters and that I needed my fuel and AC lines cleaned. They are scamming customers lying to them to sell unnecessary parts or work not required to pass safety inspections and using defective parts.

When leasing a new car in mid-2023, I choose an option for special coating of the vehicle, and Rockland Hyundai told me that they would call me when this was available. They never called, and when I called them regarding this issue, they stonewalled me and refused to either do the work or refund my money. In addition, they are continuing to bill me for work that they have never done. They have ignored my repeated requests for a cessation of this billing and a full refund. I seek the BBB's assistance in remedying this dishonest behavior by Rockland Hyundai.

Rockland Hyundai stranded me in the ******** area. I stayed in **********. The manager, ****************, told me to buy a plane ticket when I asked him whether or not I should buy a plane ticket so I could stay near the dealership and fly into ****** Friday night so I could purchase the car on Saturday and drive back down instead of having to take a flight purchase the car and drive back to the ** area in ******** all in one day. ****** specifically asked if I would be coming first thing in the morning on Saturday. he told me all he needed was proof that the money had left my bank account and I could come up to get my car that I had paid for on Saturday. The dealership told me my money had not yet arrived and they used high-pressure tactics to encourage me to sign for, a credit application and loan contract which they promised to rip up. Given that I am a single woman and was stranded in ******** the nature of the situation felt coercive to force me to sign the credit application and loan contract. I had advised them multiple times I didnt want another inquiry on my credit report and I couldnt be approved and that I didnt want, a credit application or loan contract I had to spend almost $600 on lodging, clothes, transportation and food well stranded in the ******** area for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. They told me my money arrived on Monday at 5 PM and they close at seven and we agreed it would be too late and too strenuous for during rush-hour to get to the dealership and fill out the purchase paperwork and then drive home, and the purchase would have to wait until Tuesday morning. Both ************** and ************** made me feel pressured to sign the credit application and subsequent loan contract. They told me it was only an option they offered for me to take my car home. They refused to call their bank to check for the funds. I called my bank and they was able to provide me an **** number generated by the receiving bank from the wire transfer transaction.

Hyundai USA offers a 3-day vehicle exchange program and claims Rockland Hyundai is one of the dealers that offer this. Rockland Hyundai shows this right on their website. I contacted Rockland Hyundai less than 24-hours after receiving my vehicle (and Hyundai *** within 48-hours) that I did not like it and wanted to trade up to the more expensive vehicle. They said no. I asked for my money back, they said no. I spoke with the general manager and he states that although it is on their site, they do not actually offer this and they would not do anything for me. I would like to either exchange my vehicle as their website offers or get a refund in full. I have only driven it 19-miles and I have it sitting on my driveway for days already.

I have notified Rockland Hyundai via telephone and text message to remove my mailing address from their mailing list as I no longer own a Hyundai. They acknowledged it via telephone but when I received yet another solicition, I texted the phone number they have on their website and they responded, when I told them what I wanted, no one bothered to respond. I included the screenshot of the text message I sent on 8/11.

I had my car leaking oil, I reached out to Hyundai to schedule the issue to be resolved. They told me the wait time is a month. So I called Rocklanf Hyundai and they told assessed the car and told me they me they d have to replace the drain pan. I went in and they told me the drain pan has been completed however the compressor bolt was rusted and I will need to come back at a later date. I went home and the leak persisted. When I called the dealer they said that its residual oil from before. I have a video when I went back that the dealer started the work but broke the ac bolt so instead of telling me to come back on Monday when they have all the parts they told me the work was done and they planed on doing it at a later date. Im not sure if my car has engine damage but this is unacceptable.

I purchased a used vehicle, a 2018 Hundai Sonata, on May 30, 2021 from Rockland Hyundai. The vehicle was a just off a three year lease from its only lessee. As part of the sale price I received the balance of the original lessee's new car warranty. Pursuant to this protection, which was a compelling inducement to my purchase, it was represented to me that everything on the vehicle was warrantied. In addition I also purchased a service contract from the named dealership. It was further reprsented that there was no record of accidents or damage. The vehicle had at the time approximately ****** miles after three years of use. Around December 26, 2022 I noticed that a two blotches of paint fell off the vehicle's hood and roof exposing the bare metal underneath. I called Rockland Hyundai and was instructed to bring the car in for photos. I brought the car to them on December 28, 2022. Their employee took photos and told me that this would be submitted to HyundaiUSA for approval and it would take a few days. After waiting a week and not hearing from them I called the body-work coordinator and also emailed him. He did not reply to either call or email. Upon additional calls the operator there informed me he was not at his desk and would call me back. He never did. After several attempts I was called by some other employee and told that the first fellow was out sick and would be back tomorrow and would call me. I again waited and never got a call-back. I tried to reach the fellow with whom i spoke the day before and was also informed that he was not available. I left a message and sent an email to him as well but he did not reply to either of these. It is abundantly clear to me that Rockland Hyundai is purposely ignoring my problem and complaint and that they have no intention of addressing the damage in any way. I have not had any accidents. There has been no vandalism. They sold me a defective product and should repair it.
