6/2023. This business was hired to replace and repair three decks and a fire pit at my residence. I was told by the owner that he was insured and licensed. He was hired to do the job based on the work to be performed, time and the fact that he had the manpower to get the job completed in a timely manner. There's a computer-generated image of the work after it's completed. One deck is attached to the house. One around the pool, the other was the front porch. There's a contract with terms of payment in installment. This business is not showing up to complete the work in a timely manner. It's now three months and the work are not completed. The area hasn't been cleaned. The first installment payment was $12,000. Then $4880, $2200 and the job seems to be no end in sight. I suspect that some of the material has not been purchased. He continues to make all kind of excuses via text and some days never shows up to do anything. I believe that this business is deceiving me and have no intention on honoring its contractual commitment.

    Business Response

    Date: 09/08/2023

BBB spoke to Justin at the business and the following was relayed:

I am and have been actively working on this customer's job. There were many things added to the contract, including a whole patio to the deck. The materials had been ordered prior to the complaint and were delivered the day after the complaint was filed. We had trouble getting handrails but we are almost finished with the exception of some finishing touches. I did provide the customer a discount and weather permitting expect to be done by the end of the weekend.
