If I could give no stars, I would do that. All of the psychiatrists which are considered in network by my insurance are affiliated with Portage Path Behavioral Health. I have been calling them every other day since May the 2nd (over two weeks) to try and get an appointment for my adult son. I am his guardian. I left messages stating that I am the guardian and i need to get care for him. He takes a monthly injection of a medication for his mental health conditions, and it's time for his shot. It looks like he won't get his medication on time because they have not scheduled him an appointment yet. When I finally spoke with a human yesterday, she said she got the messaages but that they didn't call me back because they don't have any guardianship paperwork on file. Let that sink in. Someone has been declared incompetent by a court. They cannot call on their own behalf. The provider will not speak to the person who needs to advocate and set up an appointment because they don't have any paperwork on file proving that I am the guardian. How does anyone in this situation receive care when they cannot speak for themselves? Was I supposed to know this in advance and provide them with a guardianship paper when they don't know anything about us? The level of stupid is absolutely and horrifically shocking. I am unable to find anyone locally who will administer the medication unless they have established a relationship ... ****** care centers will not do it. Primary care physicians won't touch it because it is outside the scope of conditions they treat. They have left my vulnerable charge without care and that is unacceptable.
