Got van around January 2023. Had it in shop less than 3 weeks of getting for transmission issues along other repairs and they had it 10 days. I have emission fuel pump, tipm, both front wheel bearing assembly, struts, shocks, both front control arms, transmission engine motor mount, sway bar both front, alternator replaced once myself plus shop another, alternator tensioner, done out of my pocket. Some was to be covered under warranty in which you have to wait 14 days to get done so by that time I am doing it because it gets to bad to drive. Transmission was done again another 10 days plus out of a car. Still have noises and still waiting for a call back

We were finally able to make contact with the buyer and confirmed that she is bringing the car into our Canton location on Monday the 18th. This customer has not been getting their vehicle serviced at one of our franchise locations and has been taking it to a corporate location in Boardman, Ohio. Once the customer has arrived we are going to retrieve a list of concerns and get them addressed with her directly.

Replying back to the comment of Boardman handling the van . Boardman didn't start seeing the van till January to February of 2024. Van was having issues turning over and battery light had come on wasn't focusing on the knocking on the transmission at that time. I tested the alternator and battery and it read poor alternator. Took it in to Boardman who tested it and said it was a bad Tipm giving me a false reading of an alternator paid $80 for their diagnosis and I spent over $200 replacing with an used Tipm. Was at Walmart within days of fixing Tipm and battery light come on and I dropped it straight off at Boardman location and in which they had it fixed within 2 days  The alternator like I regularly said was replaced and I wasn't charged.Boardman never worked on the transmission and therefore when I noticed the transmission engine mount broken and realized in August one of them was replaced during the transmission being replaced in Canton , Boardman stated since the work was as done in Canton it had to be redone there in which I tried. Following documents shows on February 20, 2024 I stated since the 12th I have been trying to reach Canton shop . On the 21st I got a reply. I did receive a voicemail from the shop in which I was on the phone dealing with getting my mom a plot to be buried in who passed February 15th. I called back left a message and never heard from anyone till this complaint was filed and last person who reach out was me on March 2nd several days after I made the return call. Which if need to be I can provide my sms backup all all text and calls, along with documents on who fixed what parts and receipts of what I have done to this van. Assistant manager Justin left me a voicemail after making this complaint and we scheduled March 18th for repairs and which I waited patiently for yesterday and he made sure all work was done along with assuring me there will be better communication from now on. Let's see if that's the truth from here out

Heads up  transmission isn't shifting right again. Started today anything over 30 mph wants to go to 4 rpm. If I put it on cruise control  it will go lower then 1. Usually it stays at a little below 2.  Barely got up a hill today .

An issue I tried to get Canton to look at since a different transmission was put in. Van back in my care. Message Justin because my engine light is flashing and reading code p0420. Oxygen sensor or possibly catalytic converter. Oxygen sensor are under my warranty. Been 24 hours since I left a message and still waiting for a reply.

For starters, I thought I was buying a certified car. At least I was told that they took my money and ran. They took $4000 from me my heart earned money and gave me a piece of junk that constantly needs to be fixed especially when it’s leaking radiator fluid in the inside of the car, they never looked at anything on this car. It is definitely not certified. I have a whole list of items. Consequently, the car needs wheel bearings and calipers and brakes. it’s actually an accident waiting to happen.

The day before Thanksgiving I took my car in to j.d. byrider to get repairs done. I told them that the coolant was leaking, the transmission was slipping, there was a popping noise coming from my car when it warms up and that there was no heat coming from the vents. 3 weeks and 2 days later I finally got my car back. They told me there was a problem with the valve cover and replaced it, they also claim that they fixed the coolant issue and the heat was working good although it smelt like coolant whenever it was ran. The aux and USB ports no longer work, the transmission still slips, the dash wasn't installed properly, and after about 2 weeks of driving it the oil and coolant were completely drained yet for some reason none of my lights came on to indicate a problem. I took my car back to them and now they're telling me they didn't replace the valve cover gasket when replacing the cover. The ac also doesn't work anymore, something that worked fine before they're claiming it's related to the radiator and not their repairs. They're also telling me that they won't cover the radiator leak as that isn't under warranty. The thing is that I just paid them around $1800 for repairs that should have included repairs to the coolant system so I'm not sure why I'm being charged for something either they missed the first time or that was caused through their actions.I just want my car to work the way it's supposed to based on the repairs they claim they did and the warranty my car comes with. I feel like they are refusing to cover my transmission and won't even acknowledge the popping noise which is why they didn't even look at the fluid which is black and that the problems it's having now are based on their repairs so they should be required to fix the problems they caused.

I purchased a car from J.D Byrider in *********, **** in December 2022. I was initially happy with the purchase but 6 months in the engine went on the car, which was in June. Had a warranty and Byrider honored and replaced. Was extremely stressful as had to go to work 21 miles each way in distance and the car was down for 2 weeks. Work was completed in July. Now the car is experiencing the same problems. Have to wait to even get the car looked at after calling today for appointment. I am upset as this is making my work comute more difficult than it should be. Should not be having this many problems with a car I purchased 9 months ago. Need a resolution. They will not offer a loaner vehicle. I need a reliable car for work. Do not mind the car payents, just the unreliable car.

The vehicle JD Byrider has sold us has had constant issues that needed to be repaired. Every time we've taken our vehicle in for repairs, it was repaired with used junkyard parts and the repairs were done very poorly. They charged us at least twice over what the vehicle itself is worth. The repair they did on our power steering pump awhile back was shoddy, when we put the vehicle in reverse it acts like the power steering is going to go out again. The A/C in the vehicle has never worked since we purchased the vehicle and they refuse to repair it. My wife took our vehicle in today for an oil change and we were told in the past that our oil changes will always be just $10.00 but today it was doubled. They charged us a "service fee" to have our vehicle looked at without telling my wife that there would be a fee nor did they charge us the fee before. They told us that as long as we would be paying for the car, there will not be any diagnostic fees. We were lied to and we will NEVER purchase a car from these criminals ever again. They need to be shut down for good. I believe we deserve to have all repairs done to this vehicle to get it into the running condition that we initially payed for or at least be compensated to have our vehicle repaired properly by technicians who know how to do their job.

I called and spoke to buyer. The buyer purchased on December 13, 2019 and to date has had their van in our shop 5 times and spent $267.41 in repairs. Additionally, we have spent $677.05 in covered warranty repairs and $84 in good will repairs. I was unable to discuss a solution as the buyer needed to get off of the call. We are here to help as we have been for the entire term of the loan.

I purchased a car from this company for 13k and it included a service plan and warranty. I was told when I bought it that "even if the motor dies we will put a crate engine in it for your deductible of $20." Well with $1200 still owed on it it suddenly died. I had it towed to their shop where it sat for a week. The next week I finally got ahold of them and was told that the motor was blown and the new motor was ordered and shipped and that it would be done the next week between Wednesday and Friday. Well it's Thursday and after 3 calls I got a new service manager who was unfamiliar with the car but stated that they had not even pulled the old motor yet. He said that they have a USED motor (my motor only had $135k miles on it) sitting there but that there was a part missing or something so they had to order it. He stated that one of their mechanics was going to replace the motor in the evening as a side job and that he SHOULD be done on Saturday but that he was going to want to drive it for a while so I wouldn't be able to get it until Monday. This place is a complete SCAM and how the people running it are not in prison is beyond me. I have NEVER missed or been late on 1 payment. I have been riding a bicycle to work for almost a month. They do not offer rentals or loaners. This is the absolute worst place to buy a car from. Had they ANY integrity or respect they would have offered me an upgraded vehicle. These people need to be investigated criminally. Buyer beware, you might as well be shopping for a car in a foreign country.Lastly, I had a mechanic friend over who noticed that the entire front clip was held together with zip ties and epoxy. Clearly the car had been wrecked which explains the 1 new headlight. This was never disclosed to **** had the dealership service my car once before. They charged me $660 to replace my heater core. The car came back with no hazards or seat warmers and was covered with grease inside. Those isuues remain.

***** purchased his car in 2019 and has had the car in our service department 2 times. It was brought in to our location on July 11th and we diagnosed it as needing an engine. We are indeed replacing the engine with a used engine per the language in his service contract. The job will be completed at a cost of $20 to the consumer. We will be in touch as soon as the repairs are completed.

      Customer response

      07/28/2023

I am rejecting this response because:

How am I supposed to know how many miles are on this "new" old engine?  If the last engine looked brand new but died with 135k miles on it how long is this other engine going to last?  How exactly did the last engine blow?  It was maintained perfectly.  And the reason it has only been into your shop twice is because last time my car came back more broken that it was when it got there.  You took a car that needed a heater core and sent it back illegal to drive (no hazard lights) and then said call back in the spring.  The seat warmers and cup warmers also never worked after that. When I called back in the spring ***** denied that it ever happened.  The ONLY reason that I brought it back this time is because you are responsible for fixing it.

My vehicle was inspected by a mechanic May 8th and I was advised there was a head gasket issue. I had an appointment with Jdb Now May 12th where they explained it was not a head gasket but a Thermostat. I got vehicle back a week later and it had overheated. The vehicle was towed up to Jdbnow the next day. This cycle continued up June 16th where they set an appointment with Dodge in Boardman for the 27th. I thought that was too long with a overheating car so I had vehicle inspected by Dodge in Austintown June 19th. Where they also found a head gasket leak. Jdbnow is still saying there is no head gasket leak and refuse to fix vehicle properly. The dodge they are working with is now doing the same and not fixing the issue. To present day vehicle still is overheating and I am looking into legal action. I purchased this vehicle October 2022. I was advised I can not exchange this vehicle either but ofcourse they’re okay with me surrendering it.

Our delay in responding to the complaint has simply been us waiting to get a hold of the guest to discuss these matters and bring the car to us for an inspection. We have invested multiple hours in trying to duplicate the complaints that she is claiming are happening. We are by no means refusing to fix but rather trying to get the car to overheat. We have put well over 100 miles on the car in multiple drive cycles in an attempt to recreate the overheating issue. Thus far we have been unable to replicate this concern. We are however engaged in working with our guest to resolve these issues in every capacity possible.
