Gutterman put a roof on in October of 2022. It was a metal roof. The roof went on ok but I wasn’t sure about the flashing around a porch, 2 dormers and the chimney. I asked the owner about it and he said it was all done. I couldn’t see the dormers and chimney due to height. I checked the porch and there was flashing on it. About 10 month after, in late August 2023 I replaced the dormer windows and could see the roof. There was no flashing. I checked the porch again and after looking under the siding realized they ran the flashing just under and caulked it. Did not run it up the wall at all. I contacted the owner 4 times. He answered once and said he’d come look at it. Then blew me off since. I’ve had a roof inspection and they recommended the whole thing needs redone but at minimum the flashing has to be done. It was part of the original contract with Gutterman. I’ve spent hours trying to get a roofer out to fix it and have someone lined up in spring. This has potentially caused issues with my roof decking and will cost me at minimum $4000 more.
