These POS sold me a lemon I had the car for literally two weeks and told them That I was surrendering it. They came to get it and are now trying to make me pay over $17,000 for a car that I had less than 30 days! Not to mention they have since sold that vehicle! The AG even told them that they should have returned my down payment! They are rude and liars at Advantage car and credit from my experience! Do not get any car there or through this company they are the worst!Capital Auto Credit, LLC

We appreciate the opportunity to respond to this complaint. Firstly, we don't sell cars at Capital Auto Credit nor service cars so the mechanical issues this customers is experiencing wouldn't be something we could help with. Secondly, the retail installment contract that is signed and agreed on at the time of sale reads there is no grace period when it comes to missing payments. Therefore any arrangements to schedule a missed payment and set up a double payment for a later date would need to be qualified and strictly a curtesy given to the customer. In order to qualify for a payment arrangement we do need to from time to time ask personal questions and we would never intentionally charge more than an agreed amount. If this customer is not satisfied with this response they are more than welcome to call us at 937-679-4060 to discuss the situation further.Review fromHaley L

I purchased my car in march of 2023. In which for the first 6 months was never late or missed a payment. I then did lose my job and was struggling until i got the job now. I pay on my car biweekly. When i was at my first job when i got the job i had my payments coming out when i got my paychecks. I now get paid a week later after my bill is due. I was trying to change it to a week later so they weren’t constantly harassing me calling me from sun up to sun down. Making it hit my credit etc. but they’re telling me i can’t even do that until I’ve had my car for a year ? A YEAR ??? What if i got the car and two weeks or a month later i had to start a new job ???? Yall telling me for a whole year straight i have to call you guys to let you know ? People have lives??! all i was trying to do was change it to a week later. 7 days. And that’s a problem. Not only that i took my payments off autopay when i left my first job. Yet they’re still constantly auto drafting my payment. Yes i know my due date but if im not calling in to authorize a payment why is it being taken from me ? Pretty sure that is ILLEGAL af!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not only that i let them use a card ONCE to help pay the rest of my bill in which they took it upon themselves i didn’t give permission for them to constantly take out of this card in which THEY DO! Now bc this is a card from selling plasma every time they try to take from a card they’re not even authorized to use i get money TAKEN so they’re literally causing money to be TAKEN from me as well. This has to be illegal. This company is very messy. Does NOT care about their customers but just the dollar amount. They’re ridiculous. It’s almost inhumane how they handle there business. I would NOT go through these people !!! I have read on here on multiple complaints of them literally breaking the law. And they just don’t care !!!! I read where they have extension policies etc. but no they do not ?? this company is a JOKE. TRULY.Capital Auto Credit, LLC

Avoid advantage car and credit and capital auto credit if you can. I have bought 3 cars from advantage car and credit and financed through capital auto. I was always on time and had my first car paid off. I'm running into some hard times and was late 1 time and they refuse to help at all, they are very rude about it. No understanding at all that some time life gets rough.Capital Auto Credit, LLC

If you can avoid this company you should. Very unhappy with this company. I’m still waiting on 20$ that was removed from my debit card for insurance even though the day I purchased I transferred my insurance from my previous car. Had my insurance company email the declaration to the company and I still got charged for not having insurance. I’ve reached out several times ultimately getting the run around. The two reps that answers the phone Becky and Lisa are very rude. Oh and let’s not forget they charged a card that was never saved to my account for two payments. I could literally write a book on the malarkey this company is about. I will never buy a car from this company. If you have any sense you shouldn’t either. They prey on people who have had credit issues and it’s not right.Capital Auto Credit, LLC

They are not a good company to buy a car from at all. They are not understanding and the plocies they have are outrageous. They say you have to have the insurance they want you to have regardless if you have full coverage they want you to have a 500 deductible. Which makes no sense. If I have full coverage insurance it shouldn't matter what my deductible is im paying the bill not them. They don't have any kind of grace period. I feel like I got robbed to begin with when I brought the car. Soons I took it off the lot I had issues with the car. Then I have a warranty through them that I take my car to get serviced for certain issues. Number one they never answer the phone so you could be 2 months without a car still paying the bill before you can utilize the warranty you've paid for. Not to mention when you go get the work done they don't fix anything they just put a bandaid on the issue and you'll be right back in a few months. If you ask me they ar robbing Peter to pay Paul and I would never encourage anybody to put not even they pinky toe on their lot.Capital Auto Credit, LLC

Thank you for allowing us to respond to your complaint, we strive to give every customer excellent service. First off, most of the complaint is pointed towards things we have nothing to do with here at Capital Auto Credit. We don't sell cars, administer warranty work, or fix autos here. We simply provide financing to customers that voluntarily want to purchase automobiles from selected dealerships in the Dayton area. Secondly, in regard to the $500 insurance deductible and the no grace period complaint, these are terms of the retail instalment contact that is openly disclosed and agreed upon by the customer and Capital Auto Credit at the time of sale.Review fromJOANNA S

I was in a hurry! MY BAD.... Lesson learned! I trusted The sales lady, but man she really got me. I was told what car I could get, and because i walked there and was desperate to get a car for work, i was ok with it. i even loved the Equinox! BUT i failed to see that i am paying way over the value and it has severe engine issues. so i pay over $500 a month for a car that i have to put 5 quarts of oil in every 4 days, they hid the fact that the car was leaking oil internally, no puddles no streaks just bone dry every time you check it, I took it to their recommended shop to be told that oil is gunked up all over the engine!!! paid approx. 9,000 already and still owe another 10,000! yes 20, 000 dollars for a lemon.... they call me every week like clockwork for payment and I give it to them, as i promised BUT I went to trade in the car so i could get a better one and the dealership said the negative equity is more than the car was ever worth, i am stuck in a car that will eventually stop running and there is nothing I can do about it..... DONT GET STUCK, I DID!Capital Auto Credit, LLC

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to respond to your complaint. Please keep in mind that Capital Auto Credit, LLC does not sell cars, we finance auto loans to individuals that find a car they want to purchase on credit. Therefore, we are not in the business of prepping cars for sale, setting sale prices, or maintenance on vehicles after a customer completes a purchase. Concerns of this nature should be directed to the dealership you purchased the vehicle from. I had a 2010 Hyundai Sonata limited. Best Christmas ever. Idiots repoed my car today. I was told before I accepted the loan that I could be covered for X amount of time following possible unemployment. That was a lie. I just got a job that REQUIRES me to have my car. I could've made the payment HAD THEY GAVE ME TIME! They had the nerve on Christmas of all damn days!!! Losers. All of y’all.Capital Auto Credit, LLC

We are sorry to hear you had a frustrating experience, but we really appreciate you bringing this issue to our attention. Here at Capital Auto Credit we strive to treat all of customers equally and fairly. Per the Retail Instalment Contract which is signed and agreed upon by the customer at the time of purchase there is no grace period for missed payments. At the time of repossession, the account had multiple payments past due with no indication from the customer the account will be brought current. The account did not qualify for the Job Loss Protection that is being referenced per the criteria of the program. As a result, the account fell under the standard rules and guidelines of the signed Retail Installment Contract.Review fromErica H.

I was sold a car that I did not have for even a week. It was sold to me with a bad engine and now it’s been a nightmare to get it fixed. I’m paying for a car I cannot drive and they are no help Ive been paying more for repairs than payments. I called the week I got home with it because the check engine light continued to come on and I couldn’t go over 4 mph…. On the way home. I always made my monthly payments and always stayed in communication with this company. Yes I had fell behind a little but always made sure to make the full payment. Reason for falling behind is because of car repairs that were problems from the dealership. they tell you that they will help you with car repair with a contact but never should we have to pay for repairs that they fail to mention. Ive always been in communication with this company let. I was lied to in so many ways all my calls i recorded they also told me that they do not like ******* or black people and they could not stand the man that was giving me the information because said he's black I also have it on surveillance cameras from my house they were recorded I am blessed because now I have a new vehicle that runs great and I know now that I will not be treated unfairly I noticed that I started becoming treated unfairly once this company knew that I had a biracial son I am from Xenia Ohio I discovered that not only myself but several other people in the community that has rented from these dealerships and the bank of Jamestown Auto they noticed that they rigged their vehicles and Capital auto credit is an LLC they are the ones that sent over a repo guy and I only owed $500 after they picked up my vehicle they told me that I owed $700 when I've made several payments not to mention the car repairs I was told by Capital Auto Credit another reason why they came and got my vehicle is because I asked to speak to another representative and be assigned to another representative because I felt that I was treated unfairly and unkindCapital Auto Credit, LLC

We are sorry to hear you had a frustrating experience, but we really appreciate you bringing this issue to our attention. Here at Capital Auto Credit we strive to treat all of customers equally and fairly. Please keep in mind Capital Auto Credit is a finance company, therefore we don't sell vehicles nor do we repair them. However, we do have a relationship with a customer service advocate from the dealership where the vehicle was purchased and we always advise all of our customers to call if they are experiencing any car problems. As it turns out after reviewing this specific account the customer failed to make multiple on time payments before this account was put into default which resulted in the recovery of the vehicle.Review fromJermaine E

The retail instalment contract that was signed and agreed upon by the customer does state there is no grace period and therefore any missed payment could result in default of the contract. We have reviewed the account and it does appear the customer has exercised his redemption rights and is currently in possession of his vehicle.
