I got a divorce last year. Called and told them and told them I was going with another company and had a new policy and to cancel. They wouldn't cancel over the phone and said they wouldn't. I thought maybe if I went forward and told my escrow/loan company not to pay into them and honor new policy. Obviously I have had two policies because of this with a lap over. They still will not cancel after talking on the phone with them and following the directions given on the phone they continuously act like they need and want more information just to cancel. Tried to fax them a signed paper stating to cancel cause that was the next thing they wanted and the fax they gave me wouldn't go through. I'm beyond angry. They owe money back to my escrow account for the back time I tried to cancel. It should not be this hard to change policies.Review from Tammy G

The worst ever !!! I filed a claim , they were very onspot sending out an adjuster , but , they denied my claim !!! I had a water leak that I couldn't see had no clue , they denied my claim and I have water damage coverage!!! I'm so upset over this , I told them I don't know how they can sleep at night knowing they rip people off !!!Review from Betty S

American Modern is the worst Insurance Company! I have been waiting for payment for 3months for a broken sewer line check was issued with a third party on the check and I'm unable to speak with anyone at American Modern my calls go unanswered and now the Adjusters phone number is disconnected just be careful this company is a Joke!!! I'm only doing 1 star because I have to mark something or it will not take my review...Review from Ed G

This would be negative 5 starts if I had the option. This company is a scam..I have been pending a claim for 6 months now and I have not received a phone call back or an email.. When I call the corporate office they are apologetic but after they transfer your call it’s back at square one..Review from Lindsay M

Three months into having a policy, they all of a sudden denied me coverage and immediately cancelled my policy because I had some moss growing on some steps outside and some chipped paint. Said my roof has shingles coming up, which is not trueReview from Rob D

They clowns sign you up they tell you to go take picutes of your house. I dont have time so these imbecile comw creeping around my house to take pictures, and search for problems so they cancel you. Dont waste you time money or nerves on this clown college. The only way the will keep you is if you purchased a brand NEW house.Review from Tenisha

Been with this insurance company since 2014 when I purchased my home. Every time I file a claim, AM response is "It's not covered" I'm at a loss. What am I paying so much money for if nothing is covered??? Time to find a new insurance company. This is so frustrating.Review from Cindy M

This company is horrible!!!!! Do not get homeowner insurance through this company. I still have a tree in my front yard, from a storm. My roof was damaged and has leaks but company claimed the damage was not from a storm. I have decided to go through a more known and reputable insurance company.DO NOT USE THIS FLY BY NIGHT INSURANCE COMPANY!!!!Review from Noah C

It took them a while, It seemed to take forever, but they came through and my bathroom is getting completely done!
