HealthSoure Chiropractic of Avon Ohio advertised on Facebook and on their website: $29 New Patient Exam and X-Ray. Participating locations only. Does not apply to federal beneficiaries and ACN members. I called for an appointment asking for the $29 New Patient Exam and X-Ray and was given an appointment on 11/09/2023 at 3:30 PM. I went in as a New Patient and had an Exam and X-Rays on 11/09/2023. At the end of my appointment I went to the front desk to pay the $29 and was told I did not have to pay until the next appointment when I came in to get the results of my X-Rays. On 12/15/2023 I went in at 9 AM and was given the results of my X-Rays and Evaluation. I was told the plan of care that would cost $2067.24. But if I bought a membership to **** ********* at $49/year the cost would be reduced to $1503.24. This was an estimated cost and not a guaranteed quote of required payments or coverage and this included treatments and modalities three times a week for 4 weeks. My husband is terminally ill and was hospitalized on November 13,2023, between my first and second appointment at HealthSource. I expressed that I had come from the hospital and was going back to the hospital after my appointment and I didn't know when I could start treatment due to my husbands condition. I was told that I didn't have to decide right away if I wanted to proceed with the plan. On my way out, I stopped at the front desk and I wanted to pay the $29 for the Exam and X-Rays but was told they would send me a bill in the mail. On 12/13/2023 I received a bill in the mail for $210.00 for the Exam and X-Rays. I called HealthSoure of Avon Ohio and asked what happened to the $29 New patient Exam and X-Ray offer they were advertising? They said the ad says: Does not apply to federal beneficiaries and ACN members. "Federal beneficiaries" is a very deceptive vague and broad spectrum term. I was never told the offer did not apply to me because I had Medicare. (I'm 70) They took advantage of me.
