I have made four separate appointments for my mother to be transported from Lakeside Health and Rehab in Huntersville, NC, to her hematologist, dermatologist, and pulmonologist. My mother has missed all four appointments because, on the day she was scheduled to be transported, I was called an hour before the appointment and told that there was no transportation in place. These appointments are extremely important because they involve her getting specific follow-up care. Needless to say, there has been one lie after another as to why her appointments are canceled at the last minute, and more importantly, transportation should be in place for her follow-up care. I have called and spoken with several staff members, emailed, and left voicemails that have all gone unanswered by the facility and corporate office. The staff members at Lakeside Health and Rehab have mastered the art of passing the buck, transferring me different voicemails, and it's just a dishonest tactic to give me the run-around, with the end result being no transportation in place, even though they confirm that she will be transported to her appointment. My mother has appointments scheduled for March with her cardiologist, etc., and I am certain there is no transportation arranged for her, even though I have spoken with several people who state we are putting it in the book. If transportation can not be arranged, we will call you back. There is a lack of systems in place, which is just benign neglect at this point.
