On 2/23/2022 I took a car in to get an estimate on replacing the bracket that holds the brake light switch in place. On one previous occasion I had issues with the brake lights not turning off on the car and a friend had adjusted the brake light switch and the bracket to get the lights to work, but recommended I contact the dealer to see if they could order a new part. When I made the appointment for the estimate I explained to the person that scheduled the appointment that the car was currently asymptomatic I just wanted to know how much the new part would cost and possibly have it replaced to avoid future issues. I dropped the car off and later received the estimate. I was told the dealership could not replace the individual bracket itself and would have to put in a whole new brake pedal assembly which would cost about $430. I decided I was going to hold off on the repair because it was more than I expected and the car was in working condition when I dropped it off. My husband picked the car up for me and told me that the brake lights were not turning off and the dealership had to unhook the battery from the car to keep it from dying, which was not the condition I dropped the car off in. He also noticed the car wouldn't accelerate properly when bringing it home. I called the following day to see if the dealership would take another look at the switch and see if they could adjust it to get the car back to the working condition I dropped it off in, at which time I was told they didn't "touch" the switch and the only way they could fix it was to perform the repair that I currently can't afford. The manager, Chris, was very argumentative and unhelpful. I would like the $48.26 I paid for them to look at it refunded as they did not provide appropriate service.
