    Customer Complaint:
    BBB has received a recent increase in complaints and customer reviews from consumers stating they get a quote from ReCell.io to purchase their used cell phone and when they attempt to cash the check, the check bounces. BBB has also received complaints and customer reviews stating that the consumer was quoted a specific amount they would be paid for their cell phone, but after they send it in, the company states they are going to pay them less due to the poor condition of the phone (scratches, cracked screen etc.)

      On June 5th my cell phone was received by the company and they offered me 215$ for it. They said I would receive payment through paypal and I did not receive anything. Ive tried numerous times to contact them with no answer. Reviewing articles online I realized they do this very often. Please help me retrieve my money or my phone back.       On 3/20/23 ReCell gave me a quote for two cell phones. One was $545 and the other $810. On 3/22/23 they emailed me stating they received my package and will inspect the package within 2 business days. On 4/7 they emailed me stating they inspected the devices and they met the description as quoted and payment will be sent within 7 business days. I did not receive payment within 7 days, so I emailed them 5/5/23 to check on the status of payment. On 5/8/23 they emailed me that payment has been initiated. I received the checks on 5/25/23. The checks did not clear the bank and I was charged $10 for each check that did not clear. I emailed them on 6/10/23 and on 6/13/23 regarding the bad checks and they have not responded to me. To resolve this issue, I need payment for $1355 and $20 for NSF fees.

      I’ve sent my device in and they received it on May 22. There was a matter of my device being carrier locked to which I contacted my carrier to have it unlocked. This was completed on May 31. I have contacted company various times to find out status. And like many other complaints, there has been no response from Recell. I am going going on almost 2 weeks with no response from Recell. Will wait 1 more week before deciding to take legal action.

      My ****** 13 that I sold to ReCell passed inspection on May 22nd, 2023. ReCell was obligated to issue me a payment of $220 - 7 days after my device passed inspection which the payment still has not been processed or sent to me and their customer service has stopped replying to my messages. The business has not tried to resolve the problem and has taken my device without any compensation and is refusing to return my product or process a payment like the original agreement.       My iPhone was accepted and payment was to be processed as of 5/22/23 via ******. As of this Monday, still nothing. They responded via email saying it would be processed with 24 hours. It’s now 4 days after that… total of 3 weeks. Now they are not responding to my emails.

      Recell received my iphone on May 1st, on May 2nd they renegotiated the price and we agreed on $640. On May 5th I received an email that payment was being sent. On May 13th I received another email saying the same thing. I contacted Recell and they informed me that payment was sent on the 13th and to wait 10 days. I didn't receive payment by the 27th so I contacted Recell again and they agreed to send a PDF check which was fine until I deposited the check and got returned by their bank as insufficient funds. So recell still has my phone and I have no money for it. I just want the $640 we agreed upon. I contacted them when the check got returned but haven't heard back

      Was quoted $1440 for 2- ****** ** *** ***** was told I would receive 7 business days. After 7 business days contacted customer service(“Ariel”), then was told it could take 10 business days. Waited 10 business day and contacted her again and was told my check was lost by the **** and that the payments department would email me a pdf of a check that I could print out and mobile deposit. Kept getting the run around on that but FINALLY got an email with the pdf of a check for $1440. That check bounced after I mobile deposited it. Contacted Ariel, who said she was unaware that the check bounced and said she’d happy to pass my ****** information to the payments department for payment that way. After several days of waiting, I have tried to contact Ariel about payment through ****** and have had no response. Have sent numerous emails since then and no response at all, she will not respond back. I believe they do not intend to pay me! They knowingly sent me a bad check, which is against the law. They received my property and have not paid me for it or offered to return it. I would like my money or my property back because I can not get either one by dealing with them by myself.

      I sent my ****** ** to this company to sell for $300. I was told that my check was processed on May 10th and I should receive my check in the mail in 7 business days. 7 business days went by and no check was received. I contacted Recellio and was told that customers had been telling them payments were being received in 10 business days. So I waited 10 business days and no payment was received. I contacted them again and asked if I could receive a payment directly deposited into my checking account. They said that once you request a check that you can't receive a paypal deposit. They said that they could send me a copy of the check and that I could direct deposit it through mobile banking on my cell phone. They said that it took 48 business hours to receive the check through my email PDF. Well, that is today and still no payment and now they won'r respond to my emails.

      I filed a complaint against these people on 6/5/23 about never receiving a payment. Well, I finally received a PDF check via email on 6/5/23. I deposited the check into my check account on 6/9/23 and I received a call from my bank today saying that the check had bounced. I want my money.

      Used this Company Recell io They finally after 6 weeks paid me for the ******* I sent them only to have the check bounce. Based on past history this seems common place complaint with this company. Not sure how they are still in business. This person Ariel is full of crap and plays games making u think they are handling matters. Haven’t heard back and appears my devices are gone and never got my money.
