I have attached pictures. A pristine black leather sofa that I have had for 13 years was damaged during the renovation. It is clearly visible that some one set something on the sofa that caused the damage. I am the only person that has resided in this home for the past 10 years. The basement has had minimal usage due to water damage, the basement was recently waterproofed june of this year. John requires half down, i removed some of the work on the invoice provided, which reduced the balance, I have been waiting for a refund for approximately 2 weeks. I also pointed out the workmanship in the basement, I requested to be repaired also with no response. John was standing in my basement when I 1st noticed the damage to my sofa. We discussed this situation in detail. He is stating this was not done by his worker, he admitted to putting a 55 inch tv on the sofa, there were several additional items placed on this sofa by his crew. I have 7 witnesses that will sign sworn avidavits that this sofa has remained in near perfect condition. I am also seeking damages for my sofa.

    In response to ****** ****** ******

The issue with said couch is still being investigated. Upon arriving to the home to start work on July 28th. 2022. ****** had place clothe covers over the said couch, and on the end of the couch closest to the area of work, I placed a doubled-up cloth tarp on the couch as well. only items that were set upon this couch where (3) Three small plastic box frame pictures, which I removed from her walls in the area where work was to be done. (2) ceramic vase like items were moved to the front of the couch, for fear they would roll off the couch and break if they hit the floor, and a basket of DVDs. I also needed to remove Vivian's T.V. from the wall, for it was in the way of our work. This was also set upon the couch with the screen facing the back of the couch to protect the screen from damage. The said items where set on the cloth coverings Vivian had placed on the couch. And we covered her pictures with the tarp I placed upon the couch. The work scheduled to be do was to install 2x2 studs, drywall over said studs. the materials consist of lumber, drywall sheets (which were in the garage), a 4.5 gallon drywall compound, and days later, a Paint can and painting supplies which were on the concrete floor. NONE of these materials were ever placed upon the said couch. It is a rule, that my guys know, "Never Put Tools and Materials On Customers Personal Items" Unless its an area we our working on and its is covered.

Also, the workmanship issue was discussed on October 18th. and I told her I would address the issue when I'm available to we are busy. I have plans to be there sometime during the week of 10/30/2022 - 11/05/2022.

As for the refunding check. I mentioned to her it will be mailed out October 31st. 2022. It was delayed due to we ran out of checks and they were on order.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I have copied the name and number for the insurance company. I will make contact. John needs to understand that he is not the only one that is busy. I need to have the inferior work corrected as soon as possible. You do NOT accept money from a client, complete inferior work and advise the client when you have time. Everything does not revolve around his schedule. This is not a take it or leave it situation. If we can NOT agree on a date and time that works for ALL. I will escalate this to the next level. The back and forth is redundant!
