I had some testing done with *** ******* ***** on 11/6/2023. An elective test that I did not authorize was completed without informing that it may require prior authorization from my insurance, or that it was in fact elective. Either of which would have been a reason for me to decline or postpone said test in order to contact my insurance before proceeding. I contacted *** ******* ***** about it, explaining what happened and disputed the portion of the bill that was charged in error. The lady in their billing department said that it was now resolved, and they had decided to "write it off" since I was charged in error, giving me the impression that this matter was now resolved on their end, as well as mine. Then, shortly thereafter, I receive a collection notice for $845 from Fairway Capital Recovery on behalf of *** ******* *****. I immediately requested validation of the debt as I already knew the matter was resolved, or so I thought. A. The debt was to be removed from the bill, per the billing department at *** ******* *****, as I did not give *** ******* ***** permission to move forward with elective tests that my insurance would not cover. B. The document Fairway Capital Recovery sent to me to validate a debt I was not even supposed to be billed, is dated May 3, 2024, six months AFTER the erroneous charge occurred.

This company uses illegal practices in attempt to collect debts. There is no “client” they are trying to collect debt for. They already bought the debt from said “client.” Do not let them lie to you, this is a misrepresentation of debt and it is illegal. They will threaten you and claim to report you (even after just one phone call) over the most minuscule amount of debt. Mind you, threats are also an illegal practice for debt collection agencies. Ed, specially, is the most heinous individual I’ve ever witnessed conduct business. He uses fear tactics and disrespectful language to demean you as a human for having a debt. He will attack your personal life and ridicule you for letting such a small debt go unnoticed. He will bully you to the point where you won’t even think this is a legitimate company and be hesitant to pay them. Unfortunately, it is. Contradictory business plan if you ask me. I’d encourage anyone who has a debt with this company to lawyer up and record all phone calls because their conduct is ILLEGAL.
