  In August of 2023 we agreed and made payments with Gleason Builders to build a covered patio. We were told it would take 2 months to finish. Here we are 10 months later and the project still isn’t completed and the business owner will not provide an update. We have asked for a meeting but he has ignored that request. There was water damage done to our house due to his negligence during construction that he has not fixed. He took several liberties straying from the blue prints as well. He invoiced us for change orders that we never talked about nor agreed on. He is attempting to make us pay for his subcontractors even though our contract isn’t with them.

  We were told by the customer thru a text message that they were no longer going to allow us to complete the project and withheld the $10,000 balance.  This money was to be used to pay invoices from 3 subcontractors that had balances due from work completed.  They have now refused to pay for work that has been completed.  Attempts were made to complete the project along with water damage to mud room, however, those attempts were halted when customer refused to allow us to continue.  Yes, the project took longer than expected, it is a known issue in todays economy that labor shortages are a major problem and quality labor is at a premium, making it increasingly more difficult to schedule workers leading to project delays.

  I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below.

   

  M*** Gleason never made any attempts to meet, even after we asked several times to. The water damage to the mudroom occurred last year in 2023 and still has never been repaired. The company had no intention to ever finish the project. 
  

  We had to pay to repair the mudroom ourselves, he should be responsible for the cost of materials/labor for it.
