Horror Movie that never ended Around November 2021 I contact Direct Global Shipping (DGS) to get estimate to ship some furniture from Upper ********* Maryland to **** ***** Puerto Rico. Based on my description of the furniture they estimated that the cost would be around $2,536. I accepted the offered and scheduled pick up for 11/30/2021. On the day before pickup, DGS contacted me and told me that they did a miscalculation on the estimate and the cost would be $1,000 more (now $3,536). Thinking that the initial estimate was low, and the new estimate was still reasonable within my budget, I went ahead and accepted the offer with the understanding that the shipping will include door to door shipping from Maryland to **** ***** Puerto Rico. The furniture was picked up on 11/30/2021 and the movers hired by DGS (*** *****) were very professional. Once my shipment was picked up, I let a few (4-5) weeks go by and contacted DGS about status of my shipment. I called several times and was not able to talk to anyone and my voice messages and text were ignored for several days. I ended up calling the movers hired by DGS (*** *****) that picked up my furniture and asked them if they knew anything about my shipment. They told me that that they sent information to DGS and was waiting for furniture to be picked up by carrier. After going back and forth with DGS and almost 2 months had gone by, my shipment finally made it to the port in Puerto Rico. Final cost was another $693 for total cost of $4,229. Then horror continues as the carrier in Puerto Rico called me and told me that they do not deliver furniture to the house, and I would have to pick it up at the port. I called DGS and they seem to resolve that issue, but now the carrier in Puerto Rico told me that they would deliver to the house, but I would need people to unload the truck as they don’t do that, and this was always a problem of DGS not telling their customers.
