We did tow the complainant's vehicle per police request due to an auto accident. The police department did give the driver the key to the vehicle and the key was placed in the vehicle upon drop off to the storage lot. The complainant came to our storage yard two different times the first time with herself and two other people. The second time with herself. She has had contact with our company on several different occasions and we told her that we would double check the truck that towed the vehicle just as a curtesy for her even though the key was placed in her vehicle. Upon her last phone conversation, she was told that we do not have the key, and it was placed in her vehicle several times. The conversation was ended due to idle threats of calling a lawyer.

Attached is a copy and pasted of what is on our receipts and she was told this over the phone on several different calls.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below.

When I went to the car twice I noticed that the sunroof was opened. I wanted to close it in case of rain. There was no key in the car either time I was in the car so I was not able to close the sunroof. I called and advised him there was no key he told me for a week that he was going to search for the key. The car was not drivable after the accident. The car was at the tow lot for about 2 weeks since there was an issue of which insurance was going to cover the damages done to the car. I did not take the key because there was never a key in the car. When I was talking to him on the phone he said he knows he put the key in the car. There was no key. I told him he needed to pay to have a key cut because I did not have the $200 for the key. I am disabled and live on a limited amount of income. When the insurance sent one way tow to get the car to take to the body shop they inquired about the key. They were told that the key was in the car which Sawyers knew it was not because I told him there was no key. The body shop refused the car since there was no key. If I had the key I would have closed the sunroof and gave the key to one way towing so my claim would have been worked. I wanted my car fixed as quickly as possible. It has been over a month since the wreck and the claim is just now been deemed a total loss. With that said I still would like Sawyers to pay me for the missing key for the aggravation of the whole situation Sawyers was rude told me he is not responsible for personal property however the key is part of the car not personal property. He hung up on me while I was on the phone with me and told me I took the key. His business practices are very unprofessional and it’s obvious that keys are not placed in the vehicle when towed. Sawyers was the last one seen with the key on Sharonvilles police body cam. The response from him even states no key. I know for a fact he received the key from the police officer at the scene of the accident. I will never use their services again and I will tell everyone my experiences from this nightmare

    Regards,

My car was illegally towed without my request or permission and the tow company is charging exorbitant rates so that I can not afford to get it out and the cease possession. Please help me! I NEED MY CAR BACK!! It’s a 2005 Silver Hyundai Accent being stored at **** ****** ***. Cincinnati, OH 45223. I’ve tried speaking with them but they have been rude, disrespectful and all around uncooperative. These towing companies are targeting lower income areas with the hope that car owners will not be able to afford to reclaim there vehicles. Simply type in google reviews and you will see the countless negative reviews being written about this shady towing company.

BBB received a phone call from the business stating that Quinn Battiste is not their customer and he is not the owner of the car.  We also verified that Mr. Quinn Battiste is not on the vehicle registration.  We no longer have the car.
