We started this process about a year ago when we purchased a Ram truck. Within two days of having the truck the check engine light came on- we took it to the dealership and they said we need to do an upgrade. Turns out we did not need upgrades the emission system was not hooked up!! Fast forward to now- the truck needs a complete engine rebuild which is estimated to take 2 months. 3 weeks in and we still have no loaner car unless we want to pay for it...why would we pay for a loaner car if we have a truck we are paying for along with the insurance for. My Ram case was escalated to a "ram cares specialist". I am pretty sure this man could not careless- he told the dealership he has been in contact with me. I have heard absolutely nothing from the man and he now refuses to speak with me! All I would like is to have a rental car (that we do not have to pay for) so that we will have something to drive while our vehicle is in the shop for the 4th time since having it for one year. I can provide all the paperwork for the "repairs" if needed.Business Response

Purchased Audi the first week of June 2023. And it’s now October and the head is cracked and a piece between two of the cylinders broke out. And is now costing me thousands to fix. The oil was completely black. They are crooks and sell nothing but lemons attached I have pictures of the head and engine. They need to be shut down. They sold me a car and within 3 months it’s now in the shop. I am disgusted at this business. They should be ashamed doing this to people.Customer Answer

Problem:
I purchased a car from RAM MOTORS at the end of June 2023 and in August 2023 it broke down and I had to replace head bc it cracked along with the head gasket and much more i paid over 2500.00 two months after buying this car. Finally got my car back and on monday November 20th, 2023 the engine blew so i am now looking at $4k+ on just an engine not counting repairs. This is a nightmare im now stuck with a loan and no car. the need to be held accountable.

Hello BBB , This is Ram Motors in responding to the complain .
The buyer received a very nice car and was very happy with it to a point that didn't to wait to finish the paperwork .
now the car was sold 100% as is with not even one hour warranty and that was four months before the complaint , the buyer had singed the as is agreement .so the dealer is not responsible for any damages caused by negligence by not changing oil while the car was in their possession , the buyer has stated that the oil was black ,but it wasn't when we sold it , that tells me that the buyer did not perform the proper maintenance like changing the oil at least . therefor this complaint has no standing
thanks

Tuesday February 14 2023 I purchased a **** ******** ***** from ram motors in Cincinnati Ohio. I had test drove it a few days prior to purchase and nothing seemed wrong with the car. After signing the papers and heading back to ********** ky blue smoke started coming from the exhaust on the expressway we had contacted the dealership while driving back and they said it wasn’t smoking when they had it and that they didn’t know what the problem was. After that things started going downhill, upon making it to the house a trail of redish/ pinkish fluid or oil started coming from the car all the way up the drive way. I called the ******** dealership here in ********** to schedule a diagnostic to make sure nothing was wrong with the car. Upon leaving it at the dealership I had recieved a call stating that it didn’t look too good for the vehicle and after telling me everything that was wrong with it the total to fix it would be around 6k. I was also told by the mechanic that I shouldn’t put anymore money into the car and should take it back. Instantly we called ram motors and told them what we were told by the ******** dealership. Ramsey and Ed both said when they had the vehicle nothing was wrong with it and they have no idea what we are talking about. They also told us the car as sold as is! They began to tell us we shouldn’t have took it to the ******** dealership here in **********, and again they have no idea what we’re talking about. Not once was it on the website(car gurus) that something was wrong with the car nor did they say anything to us prior to looking and signing the agreement! I do not know what to do or to think I don’t have 6k to put into the car. I didn’t do anything to the car and I’ve only had it for 48 hours and ram motors will not do anything about itBusiness Response

On Friday, July 1, 2022, we purchased a **** ** **** diesel from Ram Motors. We have always bought used vehicles with no prior issues. This time we bought a newer car than we usually do and spent as much on this car as we did our last three vehicle purchases. We decided to get a newer vehicle with less miles because we don’t need any more projects at this time and I really need something to drive with a better fuel economy than my **** ****. We knew when we bought it that it needed the AC recharged. It was a hot ride home. We got it home, I needed to run an errand 6 miles away less than four hours after our purchase. I didn’t make it. The car started dropping in low gear and revving to 3000 rpms. I called my husband, we wound up having to load it on our flatbed trailer and hauling it back home. My husband has a code reader, which he used on this car. So far the particulate filter is clogged or inoperable and the mechatronic unit is bad. These two parts alone cost more than what we paid for the car.Business Response

Customer bought the car %100 as is where is, and they were aware of the check engine light bring on. No returns are accepted. But to help the customer out, they can bring the vehicle for our mechanic to check it out and will go from there.Customer Answer

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below. We are fixing the car ourselves. It is currently disassembled in our barn. We are waiting on parts to arrive. It would be nice if they would at least pay for the parts.

We were hoping to have good news after working on the car all weekend. We are still working on the **** ** **** *** which we purchased from Ram Motors on July 1, 2022. My husband has a day job and can only work on the car on evenings and weekends. We used our code reader on the car and thought we had fixed the issues. We finally drove the car today. Within minutes, the car went back into “limp” mode and we barely made it back home. The code reader said that the problem was in the transmission. Per the code info, we purchased: DSG Mechatronic transmission solenoid - $40.00, 02E DSG Mechatronics Circuit Board - $136.99, 6 Liters FEBI Dual Clutch Transmission Fluid - $102.40, Transmission Fluid Fill Adapter - $16.69, Set of Liqui-Moly DPF Cleaner & Purge - $67.99. This totals $364.07.
As we have still not been successful in getting this car up and running, we’d like this case to stay open a while longer.
