I am writing to file a formal complaint against Conrads Tire Shop regarding a recent issue I experienced with their service. On 24 February, my wife and I were misled by the manager, Tim, into purchasing a tire that he assured us would be identical to the ones already on our vehicle. However, we were not allowed to see the tire before it was installed. Upon expressing our dissatisfaction while still at the dealership, Tim promised that we could return with a different tire, and he would reinstall the original one free of charge. We were under the impression that this meant a full refund would be provided. When we returned with an alternate tire, Tim refused to refund the original tire, leaving us with an unnecessary purchase. This miscommunication and misleading behavior has resulted in us owning two tires, one of which has only two days' worth of usage. I have reached out to Tim to discuss the matter and requested a third party from corporate to discuss. He assured me that he would do so, however Tim has now ghosted me and is no longer communicating. We are seeking a resolution where Conrads Tire Shop accepts the return of the tire and provides a full refund for both the tire and the installation, which we are still in possession of. We are eager to return the usable tire back to Conrads. We are aware that Conrads records all of their audio, which I assure will back up our claims. However the tire that will match assurance conversation was done while at the shop and is not recorded. However the conversation where Tim guaranteed the third party was recorded. In the future, all tire should be available to be seen prior to being put on the car to alleviate this issue. I will gladly show the difference in tires, where you can see that visible difference. I made an appointment on 3/8/25 for my back right tire to get a patch. My appointment was at 9 am. I called at 11:30 for an update. They said my car was still in the line up and hadn’t been serviced. At 2:30 I received a text with an update on my car that they were fixing the leak but found another small leak. The manger called me saying they couldn’t patch the other small leak which I said was fine. He recommended I get 4 new tires due to the brand of car (******) I have. I told him not today and he said he give me a quote of 4 tires when I picked up my car. My boyfriend got my keys bc I had an appointment and paid for the patch. At 5:02 the manager called me saying my tire was flat and on Monday they could put my spare on. Even with the small leak I had prior to anyone touching my tire it never went flat. I went to see my car (15 minutes after they closed) and my tire was completely flat. My rim was messed up and the seal was horrible. The tire isn’t sealed to the rim. What is beyond frustrating is they had time to truly figure out a solution for my tire but instead disregarded my appointment time and serviced my car way after 9 am. I would have NEVER gone to ******** and kept my tire the way it was. It is worse now and completely unusable. This is also the second time they messed up my tire at the same location. I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. I would like a refund for the patch and a new tire or money towards a new tire.Business Response

My chief complaint comes down to what I find to be lack of service, poor service, and extremely poor communication along with lack of communication from Conrads corporate. At the end of October, I brought my car in for service and they provided a “bumper to bumper inspection” and then provided service on the brakes, exhaust and other parts that were leaking and causing a variety of problems. $3100 later, I picked up the car, there were still problems, a couple which they addressed and admitted to. Add the fact that they were still exhaust issues and the bumper-to-bumper failed to fix or Find my check engine light (Isn’t this one of the Primary reasons people Come to Auto shops?!) and my coolant light on the dashboard, problems began to persist over the following weeks. While it is on me that I did not return the vehicle in a timely matter, I reached out numerous times to Conrads for additional support. The website continued to give me errors when I would fill out the form to be contacted back (“An internal error occurred during your request”). The phone number always had a full voicemail. The Conrads corporate email never returned a message. I have attempted numerous times. I brought my car back to a different Conrads at which point they gave a second estimation for an additional $3800 in repairs. This time they at least addressed the dash lights for the coolant light and the check engine light that were previously not addressed in the first visit. Still, my attempts to contact corporate support have gone unanswered, I still cannot reach anybody on the phone, and the website continues to give errors when I try to reach them. The truth is, I don’t know what it is I want, I don’t know what it is I expect, but I’m at my wits end.Business Response

Went for routine oil change, they took my payment and let me leave without putting new oil in my car. I had to go to another location that verified this. On 1/10/2025 my wife took our 2012 ***** ******* to Conrad's Total Car Care in Willoughby. We needed to get an oil change. The service was completed without issue. On 1/17/2025 my wife{Concetta} left home to run some errands. The car had been sitting in the driveway not getting used much in the week between. She contacted me that the car started running rough and that she had backed out of a driveway and noticed a puddle of oil. I told her to bring the car home immediately. When I went outside to meet her I immediately noticed a substantial puddle of oil in our driveway with a line of oil leading out into the street. Since we had just had the oil change we immediately contacted Conrad's and brought the vehicle in to be looked at. Later in the day Conrad's contacted us with an accompanying video showing how the rear main seal was blown out and further told my wife we needed a timing chain also. These problems did not exist before the oil change and if they had wouldn't the mechanic doing the oil change have noticed it? They also quoted us a repair figure of $5000. Our vehicle was always well maintained and got all scheduled maintenance when needed. It was a great running car. My wife and I are both disabled and my wife is a caretaker of other family members and depends on the vehicle to get us around. Now we are without a car and do not have the means to fix it. The vehicle is damaged because of the neglect of their mechanics and not of us. We don't know what to do next but hope our vehicle will eventually get repaired. We will no longer use Conrad's and advise others to do the same.Business Response

Appointment scheduled for 9am at Snow Road, Parma Ohio. Dealt with Tyrone on phone. Right headlight bulb out. Windshield washer fluid not working. Arrived at 9am. Dealt with America. She printed work order..under $200. Tyrone BUTTED IN...work order went up to over $500...stated bumpers needed to be removed. NOT TRUE! He advised $139 charge to service washer...possible addition of $450 to $500 if needs motor. Motor is less than $100. I canceled appointment...I'll take my business elsewhere. Tyrone DISHONEST. America was wonderful!!! She agreed with me when I canceled!!! I work close by and was convenient to have my work done there. Have had other things done and had no issues!!! Done with Conrad's!!!! The job was not satisfactory. They worked on my car and charged $400+. I was told by Conrads to get a 2nd opinion, at ****** ******** ** **********. And I was charged $200. The service adviser at my dealer stated that the work performed by Conrads was not necessary. I feel that I'm owed money back. At least $600. Just feel they needed to pay for my 2nd opinion.Business Response

I was charged for a repair that I did not ask for and was unnecessary. I asked to have the right turn signal repaired, but it was not, I asked for an oil change, but the oil change alert is still on; not sure there was an actual oil change. I was charged for these repairs, and when I return to Conrad's I was greeted with nastiness, and I was called a ***** by the guy at the counter, who's name I believe is **** (white guy with red hair). I would like a refund of my money, for the nasty treatment I received for their error.Business Response

I took my car in for a wheel alignment. First Mike told me it would be done in the morning. I get a text video about the car he then states oh u need to get a back strut done first before I can perform the alignment.. I said ok fine it’s 10:00 am he says I should be ready by 12:00pm.. I call at 1:34 and say I’m trying to see the progress of my car he says oh it’s in the air now he working on it .. at 4:30 he calls and says he did u have other work done it’s not allowing me to adjust it all the way so he then states he give a call back in 5 minutes.. 5:45 he calls we wasn’t able to do the alignment take it somewhere where else !! But claim to been working on my car every time I called nothing was wrong with the car it’s winter so I chose to get the front work done to be safe and I took it to them and the did god knows what to my car and still want me to pay for the strut when the strut wasn’t affecting the car before or in the first place this not fair or right and they have cameras to see show what they actually did in that shop to my car I want to see themBusiness Response

Date: 10/21/24 Macedonia store-approx. 3pm purchased two "new" tires for my van and set up an appointment online through their website. According to website-they were NEW tires. They are not. They had dirt and grime on them and did not look new at all. Also they put a ton of "grease sealant" all over the tire wall-completely unnecessary and very messy! The job they did--it looks like very unappealing and they should be embarrased by the quality of their work! I have never had anyone use a sealant before to prevent "leaking." The tire valves were not replaced as stated on their website. When spoke to customer service, told nothing could be done about this and they refused to do anything. I was told the tire valves are only replaced if necessary also. That contradicts what the website says. I question if the tires are really NEW based on the way they looked and the dirt in the grooves of them. I can clearly see they have miles on them already. This is misleading and should not be allowed by any tire business. The pictures attached show the "shotty" work they did for reference.Business Response

I offered to personally inspect the vehicle to verify if the tires are new or not.
I offered to bring the vehicle to any one of our facilities to have a higher level or even a master technician correct the issue.
I offered to replace the valve stems.

Thank you for the recent response regarding the tire replacement issue. While I appreciate their efforts to address the situation, I am still dissatisfied with the outcome and their refusal to issue a refund.
From my perspective, the resolution they provided did not fully address my concerns or the issues I experienced with the tires. As a customer, I expected a product that met basic quality and performance standards, and unfortunately, that was not the case. I refuse to trust this business with looking at my car again-I worry they will continue to be unprofessional and refuse to do any extra work on my part when they cannot do their job properly the first time. I have provided clear documentation and evidence to support my complaint, and I believe a refund is a fair and reasonable request under the circumstances.
