JJM was hired for our bathroom renovation. The contractor was signed by myself and President, Tony R*** on 2/21/23 and 2/23/23. I made an initial payment of half the cost on 2/22/23. At the time we were told the project would take 2 weeks but could be longer with an older home. We expressed the importance of it the job being completed by 4/1/23 as we needed to be out of our second home by that date and the **** address only has one bathroom. On more than one occasion we expressed concerns about the timeline as Tony had hired his son, Marcus R***,to complete the work and Marcus was not coming to work complete days. We also expressed concerns about Marcus's craftsmanship. On 4/14/23 we contacted Tony and asked him to meet us at the home the next day as we had just been to the house and the project was no where near completed and it did not seem as if Tony had seen the work for himself in awhile. When we met on 4/15/23 he agreed the work was not done well and apologized several times. He said he could take his tools and leave the job and we didn't have to pay anything further OR asked us to give him one more week. We agreed to one more week under the condition that Marcus was not to be doing the work. Tony assured us he would complete the work himself and get additional crew members to assist. Marcus ended up "completing" the work. However concerns about his workmanship have prompted us to get additional professional opinions and we have been informed that several items in the contract have been done incorrectly and need fixed. We additionally went over receipts more closely and found items on the receipts of materials that are not in our bathroom. That total was approx. $500.00 We do not trust anyone from JJM to fix any further issues in our home. We paid JJM a total of $9329.50. The estimate we received to fix work is $4160.00. That amount does not include the tile cost that we paid for on our own: $1544.50. Additional supporting documents available upon request.
