      I marked my American Greetings account "Do Not Renew" last year, and I was still charged a renewal fee this year. I would like a refund of the $29.99. When I tried calling American Greeting's customer service, I got a message that they are temporarily closed. According to the Better Business Bureau, their customer service has been unreachable by phone for over a year. This is unscrupulous business. Please refund me and cancel my membership.

      Hello, I am contacting BBB because American Greetings has charged my account in Augusta and September for 9.94..I spoke with a representative by the name of Feliza stating that she could not refund the account. The last time the account was used was in January of 2022- a one time usage. Then American Greetings charges me after the account has been cancelled 9.94 for August and another amount of 9.94 for September. I need the amount credited to my card and the customer service rep failed to understand.

      American Greetings Corporation ( under the name AM Greetings) has been charging a yearly fee to a business charge card that has been inactive for more than 2 years. This yearly fee was never authorized. When we called the number 800 711-4478 to dispute the charges the phone had a message saying it is an unassigned number.

      American Greetings.com withdrew $32.94 from my checking account. (Not sure how they got it.) on July 3 2023. I tried several emails to tell them I did not purchase a membership They said they could not find my account. They said I used an email account which I havent used in yrs. Ref ID is *******. They asked ne for invoice number, and customer ID I did not have any of these bc I did not purchase a membership. They say they do not refund memberships but I did not purchase a membership

      On June 23, 2023, an American Greetings account I was unaware of and had not accessed since 2017 was charged an auto-renewal fee on a credit card that was past its expiration date and should not have worked to process an auto-renewal. I learned the account has been auto-renewing since 2017 even though the associated e-mail address has not been active since 2019 and the card entered had an expiration date of 2018. I contacted the business requesting a refund, and was denied.

      Typically, when a credit card is re-issued with a different number, the issuing bank will notify the payment providers of the new card number, so that recurring payments can continue to be made.
       
      If you’re unhappy with this process, you may wish to contact your bank since it is they who authorized the disclosure. But please rest assured that there’s no reason to be concerned in this case, and this process is quite normal for re-issued cards.

      Your membership has been closed. As a courtesy, we have refunded your last payment of $31.64. This should appear on your next credit card statement.

      When signing up for the free trial I selected apple pay as the payment method. I was not made aware that the entire $7 would be posted to my account to verify my apple pay the same day I began the FREE trial. Usually a free trial testing the payment method will take out a single dollar to verify, not the entire amount. I called customer service and they said this does happen when you select apple pay as the payment method, but I was not made aware of this before selecting apple pay which is frustrating. The representative said it was a temporary hold and I will get my money back since I cancelled the free trial the same day I began the free trial. However it’s now been 5 days and the money is still being withdrawn from my account. This is extremely frustrating and not a usual business practice.

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

      This response was very unhelpful. First of all, the subscription I chose through American Greetings wasn’t run through the Apple or iTunes store so there’s no way for me to utilize the Apple link provided in the business’ answer. Secondly, its been 6 days now with the full money amount being withheld from my account. I’m glad it’s just $6.99, because the free trial automatically selected the yearly subscription amount and I had to manually change it to a monthly subscription. Otherwise, it would’ve taken the yearly subscription amount out of my account. I’m still in the same exact position I was before receiving this response so the response was completely unhelpful.

      On Friday May 5th I contacted American Greetings after receiving an email alerting me of a membership amount that is going to be automatically deducted from my account. I had an account with them 5 years ago and have not been charged since I cancelled . They kept my information at least 5 years after cancellation and charged me without authorization. During the call , in order to verify my identify, they needed my address- which turned out to be an old address from 5 years ago. The individual assisted me in verifying the address- I needed help remembering the address because it was so long ag0- then he promised a refund will be issued. He was unable to answer A refund was issued ( for $29.99) an a charge for a GREATER amount was placed the SAME DAY!( for $32.44) I am unable to get anyone on the phone to correct this.

      On 5/4/23, I received an email that I was being charged 39.99 for renewing a 2-year subscription with American Greetings. I have never had a membership with American Greetings, EVER! According to my order history, I have never even purchased from them. I didn't even know that I had an account with the website until I tried to login with the account listed at the bottom of the email. I just looked at my membership history and it says that I had a membership in 2017 for 2 years that ends in 2025 being charged with a payment method that expired in 2018! What in the world is going on? How are you charging a credit card with an expired expiration date? I have tried to call them and they do not answer their customer service line. I have no idea if I was charged in the past as well but I want a full refund for this membership and any past memberships because I have never willingly purchased a membership with them nor have I ever used their membership services in the past. My customer number, that I didn't even know I had, is **********.

      I had a credit card charge of $29.99 for renewing a membership . I have not used this service nor have I had any email or other communication from them indicating that I was a member in well over a year. I communicated with them and they refused to refund my money. The number on my email was ********. Whether that might be a membership number or claim number I dont know.
