    On Thumbtack James ******** as The One and Only Mr. Mason bid on my masonry job. On December 29 I paid James ******** a downpayment of $750 to do a masonry job at my house in ****** ******* ***** This is the company of The One and Only Mr. Mason in Garfield Heights OH. Starting the next day (12/30/2024) I got disturbed by the lack of responsiveness and asked for a refund. Although I know for certain James has read my messages asking for a refund, he is ghosting me and hasn't responded to my requests for a refund. I have contacted Thumbtack support about this problem too.

    On 2/23/2024, I paid a $2400 deposit to the company with the understanding that work would be completed in March of 2024. Repeated dates were given by *** ***** that work would be completed in March, April, May, and June - each time no call/no show. Eventually, *** ***** offered a refund. When we became uncomfortable with repeated delays we accepted this offer on 6/10/24. They stated they sent a check via USPS 6/13/24 - said we would receive it "on the 14th or 15th". We reached out on 6/19/24 status when it didn't arrive, and they stated they didn't actually send it until 6/17/24 and it would again arrive "today or tomorrow." As of 6/28/24 still no check has arrived. On 6/14/24, I offered to go in person to pick up check to make it more convenient. Then offered my *****. *** ***** stated we would be paid by ***** 6/27/24 - no payment received. Then stated they would send payment by noon on 6/28/24. We shared our frustration and intention to file BBB complaint - their response then changed to stating they would send payment by 7/1/24 or 7/2/24. Continued delays and lack of follow through are concerning. We simply would like our refund of $2400 ASAP.
