On 7/18/2024 I parked at the LAZ parking lot. I scan the QR code to bring up the payment than I proceeded to make one. I received an email few from the company a few week later saying I owe $92 because I didn’t pay. I submitted the email to the company with my confirmation number on it. I heard nothing back and few days I ago I received a letter from the debt collector/lawyer to say I owe $92. I would like this removed from my credit report immediately because it’s being reported as bad credit and damaging my credit score

I received a notice from a collections attorney (Parking Recovery Services, Daniel B. ******) on June 12th indicating we parked in downtown Cleveland without paying the parking fee. We parked in the W. 9th parking lot on May 19th from 11:11am - 4:32pm and a charge appears on my credit card (for that date) from LAZ parking Ecommerce for $15.55. The notice I received indicated we now owed $92. I sent the Recovery Services folks a copy of the credit card statement with the charge highlighted . We then received a letter indicating we still owed the $92 and that we needed to provide a copy of the receipt or bank transaction (which we had already done). I then sent an email on 7/31 with copies of the credit card deduction and they again said they needed a receipt. I have called three times (left messages) no response. I spoke with the local Cleveland parking manager and he said he would follow up and get back to me. Never heard back from him either. If they want the little piece of paper that you stick in your windshield, I don't have that (this notice came a month afterward-who keeps those!). We do not remember getting any text or email from LAZ confirming parking/paid on May 19th. I sent the deduction from the credit card (twice). This has been paid. Now they want to send us to collections. I'd appreciate your assistance please.

Hi there, thank you for bringing this to our attention. Our team looked into this issue and discovered the customer had accidentally input the wrong email address which is why she never received a receipt. Our team has been in contact with the customer and has dismissed the violation due to the mix up.

Two times I have been ticketed AFTER paying for parking, and no one cares to check their records. I have sent proof of payment, and LAZ parking still does nothing.

Please take note of the following information: The transaction took place on 07/24/24. When I accessed the website, it prompted me to pay $0.86 for up to 2 hours of parking, and then it mentioned that a preauthorization charge would be placed on the account. This reauthorization was about $3, meaning I would be paying for a little over 2 hours. When I returned to my car a little over an hour later, I found a parking ticket. I was very confused because I was within the time limit but still got a ticket. Upon appealing, I was informed that I needed to use the app or a barcode to pay for parking. This was confusing to me because I was not aware of any other way to pay. It seems like this business takes pride in being misleading and issuing tickets even when payment for parking has been made. They tried to address the issue but their explanation was inadequate. I distinctly remember using the QR code, and I request that they provide me with the metadata if they believe otherwise. This information should have been clearly communicated to customers. It seems like they mislead their customers and then charge them to gain more revenue. This is not an acceptable way to conduct business. On top of this, my friend also received a ticket, and although I assisted them in writing their appeal using the same reason, theirs was accepted while mine was denied. This seems like a discriminatory practice. I expect this matter to be resolved fairly by having the citation removed based on these circumstances.

After speaking with the customer and researching this ticket, we have found that the customer paid for 30 minutes of parking and the ticket was given 22 minutes after the time had expired. While our officer did nothing wrong in this situation, we understand the customer's confusion and will issue a one-time forgiveness for this citation.

A parking ticket was issued by LAZ in lot 7 at **** ******* ******* ********** on July 31, 2024, although the valid parking permit hangtag was clearly in place on the rear view mirror, as shown in the attached photo. A call to LAZ did not resolve the issue. Its stance was that, although the matter can be appealed, payment of the fine will still be required within 10 days (with double penalties thereafter), although an appeal will take 2-4 weeks.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and frustration you experienced while parking at **** ******* ******* University. Lot 7 has 3 areas for parking.  2 handicap spots, 2 short-term spots, and the rest of the spaces are for permit parkers. The citation was given to you for parking in one of the short-term spots meant for lab services that drop off and pick up items. We enforce this lot at the client's discretion and their direction. However, due to the confusion, we would like to extend a one-time courtesy dismissal.
