The online system for LAZ Parking does not let me to select my parking time to begin at the time that I arrive on the lot. Since I need a longer time frame than what they offer on a drop-down menu, I have to opt to select a start time. However, they only offer increments on the hour or half-hour. This has resulted in me receiving parking fines even though I did pay upon entering the lot. I have the confirmation emails that show the more accurate time rather than what the time is on their online system. I got the first notice sometime during the first week of May for parking on 02/26/2025. I arrived just after 9 AM (my receipt says I paid at 9:18 AM) but their online parking system would only allow me to register my vehicle to start parking beginning at 9:30 AM. I received a second notice the first week of April for parking on 02/07/2025 (this arrived late due to me borrowing a leased car and the dealership had to reroute the notice). On this day, I arrived just before 9 AM at 8:44 AM. Their online system allowed me to register to start parking at 9 AM. I got my receipt that I paid at 8:50 AM which makes sense since I still needed to park, get out my phone, and register online and that took me 6 minutes to do. Now I am being fined again for “registering late”. Each time I paid the required $4.75 amount. Each fine I received was for $45.00. I like using this lot when I know I can leave work early but it is not worth parking there due to their faulty online system options.Initial Complaint

On February 26, I got a letter in the mail from an attorney named ****** ** ******* The letter consisted of a $92 fee from me not paying to park at the crown lot downtown. The address is **** * *** ******. I parked in this lot from 9 to around 11 p.m. I did not see the QR code when I went in this parking lot, since it was dark that night. A lot of people were pulling into the lot and not paying so I assumed it was no fee. I went back down to the lot on March 13th and I did see there is a rate of $15 on weekends. It was near the entrance where it was hard for me to see when I pulled in. I would like to see if I can just pay the $15 and send it in by check or money order. On 7/18/2024 I parked at the LAZ parking lot. I scan the QR code to bring up the payment than I proceeded to make one. I received an email few from the company a few week later saying I owe $92 because I didn’t pay. I submitted the email to the company with my confirmation number on it. I heard nothing back and few days I ago I received a letter from the debt collector/lawyer to say I owe $92. I would like this removed from my credit report immediately because it’s being reported as bad credit and damaging my credit scoreBusiness Response

I received a notice from a collections attorney (Parking Recovery Services, Daniel B. ******) on June 12th indicating we parked in downtown Cleveland without paying the parking fee. We parked in the W. 9th parking lot on May 19th from 11:11am - 4:32pm and a charge appears on my credit card (for that date) from LAZ parking Ecommerce for $15.55. The notice I received indicated we now owed $92. I sent the Recovery Services folks a copy of the credit card statement with the charge highlighted . We then received a letter indicating we still owed the $92 and that we needed to provide a copy of the receipt or bank transaction (which we had already done). I then sent an email on 7/31 with copies of the credit card deduction and they again said they needed a receipt. I have called three times (left messages) no response. I spoke with the local Cleveland parking manager and he said he would follow up and get back to me. Never heard back from him either. If they want the little piece of paper that you stick in your windshield, I don't have that (this notice came a month afterward-who keeps those!). We do not remember getting any text or email from LAZ confirming parking/paid on May 19th. I sent the deduction from the credit card (twice). This has been paid. Now they want to send us to collections. I'd appreciate your assistance please.Business Response

Hi there, thank you for bringing this to our attention. Our team looked into this issue and discovered the customer had accidentally input the wrong email address which is why she never received a receipt. Our team has been in contact with the customer and has dismissed the violation due to the mix up.Initial Complaint

Two times I have been ticketed AFTER paying for parking, and no one cares to check their records. I have sent proof of payment, and LAZ parking still does nothing.Initial Complaint

Please take note of the following information: The transaction took place on 07/24/24. When I accessed the website, it prompted me to pay $0.86 for up to 2 hours of parking, and then it mentioned that a preauthorization charge would be placed on the account. This reauthorization was about $3, meaning I would be paying for a little over 2 hours. When I returned to my car a little over an hour later, I found a parking ticket. I was very confused because I was within the time limit but still got a ticket. Upon appealing, I was informed that I needed to use the app or a barcode to pay for parking. This was confusing to me because I was not aware of any other way to pay. It seems like this business takes pride in being misleading and issuing tickets even when payment for parking has been made. They tried to address the issue but their explanation was inadequate. I distinctly remember using the QR code, and I request that they provide me with the metadata if they believe otherwise. This information should have been clearly communicated to customers. It seems like they mislead their customers and then charge them to gain more revenue. This is not an acceptable way to conduct business. On top of this, my friend also received a ticket, and although I assisted them in writing their appeal using the same reason, theirs was accepted while mine was denied. This seems like a discriminatory practice. I expect this matter to be resolved fairly by having the citation removed based on these circumstances.Business Response

After speaking with the customer and researching this ticket, we have found that the customer paid for 30 minutes of parking and the ticket was given 22 minutes after the time had expired. While our officer did nothing wrong in this situation, we understand the customer's confusion and will issue a one-time forgiveness for this citation.Initial Complaint

A parking ticket was issued by LAZ in lot 7 at **** ******* ******* ********** on July 31, 2024, although the valid parking permit hangtag was clearly in place on the rear view mirror, as shown in the attached photo. A call to LAZ did not resolve the issue. Its stance was that, although the matter can be appealed, payment of the fine will still be required within 10 days (with double penalties thereafter), although an appeal will take 2-4 weeks.Business Response

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and frustration you experienced while parking at **** ******* ******* University. Lot 7 has 3 areas for parking. 2 handicap spots, 2 short-term spots, and the rest of the spaces are for permit parkers. The citation was given to you for parking in one of the short-term spots meant for lab services that drop off and pick up items. We enforce this lot at the client's discretion and their direction. However, due to the confusion, we would like to extend a one-time courtesy dismissal.
