I have been a customer at Third Fed for savings and mortgage products for over 15 years. I have never had anything but a positive experience with anyone there. A real person answers the phone who has answers or finds them. I recommend this company whole heartedly .Review from Nathan H

My experience with third Federal has been nothing but pleasant. When you call their customer service, you are connected to a knowledgeable and helpful us based person, with minimal hold times. The process of obtaining our mortgage was exceptional, and Quinn was there to answer our questions every step of the way. Only reason I gave them 4 instead of 5 stars was I opened a cd with an ACH transfer, and my only option to close it out was wait 7-10 days for a check. I wish I could transfer the money back in the same way I transferred it to third Federal. Checks are out dated. Otherwise, great bank to work with!Review from Jennifer M

After searching for the right home equity, I came across Third Federal and their low rate fixed home equity at 7.59% for 30 years. I reached out to the branch in Palm Harbor and spoke with ***** *******. I am so thankful that I called because Livia sent me all information needed to make the best decision, told me to put her name on the application and Livia has been in communication with me throughout the entire loan process. Do not go this bank! Be warned. Stay away. I had the misfortune of working with Jerry-**** ******** I have all copies of emails and faxes that I have sent (probably around 10+) and she insisted that she has not received it. I even sent it to Third Federal documents upload but she said she can’t access it. Do not waste your time applying for a loan. Even if you have good and excellent credit and complied and jumped ALL the hoops that they require, they will give you an excuse that they have not received it. I spoke to JT (I guess a teller?) and he tried to make excuses that their system is backward and slow and most of the times unable to be accessed, (really???), I spoke to the bank’s general manager “Lauren”, to basically complain and I was very calm. I was starting to tell her my experiences about Jerry-**** *******, only to be cut off that she’s busy and will call me back. The one good thing about them? They band together. They cover for each other’s bad behavior. They should attend and learn customer service. I don’t know if all Third Federal branches are like this, but I guess it is reading the past reviews. This is the Delray Beach branch in Delray Beach, Jog road between Atlantic Ave and Linton. Just stay away from Third Federal.Review from Mon L

Third Federal Savings and Loan is the WORST financial institution I have ever had the misfortune of experiencing! The customer service is the most GHETTO experience I ever encountered! First off, the process to open an account online has you answering PERSONAL security questions that DON'T PERTAIN TO YOU AND YOUR LIFE AT ALL. But "none of the above" is not going to be one of the choices you'll have to choose from out of all the multiple choice answers the online system gives you to answer some of the personal security questions, FORCING you to choose an answer that will be wrong. Then once you are FORCED to choose an incorrect answer the system will flag your application for opening an account. (For me one of the personal security questions asked "which street is closest to where you live," but NONE of the answers listed where anywhere near any place I have ever lived before. The streets listed as answers to this question weren't even in the same city of any place I had ever lived before). Then when you call the company's customer service line to discuss the issue with the system and the security questions, EVERY SINGLE PERSON you'll speak to, from the bottom to the top, will be GHETTO, RUDE, and IGNORE everything you called them about to discuss, never acknowledging any problems you are calling them about, but just "victim blaming" YOU (and this behavior will be exhibited from Samantha, to Martin, all the way up to Mathew Cotes. They ALL will be short and dismissive with you, and ALL will demonstrate a LACK of communication skills and VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE)! Long story short, when it comes to your money I URGE ANYONE CONSIDERING OPENING AN ACCOUNT WITH THIRD FEDERAL SAVINGS AND LOAN TO RECONSIDER, UNLESS YOU WANT A THIRD RATE EXPERIENCE, THIRD RATE CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND A THIRD RATE HANDLING OF YOUR MONEY... THEY DON'T CALL THIS COMPANY... "THIRD"... FEDERAL SAVINGS AND LOAN FOR NO REASON!!!! DON'T DO BUISNESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!!... YOU'LL REGRET IT!Review from EDWARD B

My money is being held hostage by Third Federal and they don't seem to care at all!!! I have been trying all week to get some of my money out of my savings account with no luck. I know there are limits but I had transferred $0 out of my account in the past 30 days and I couldn't transfer any money (except $3,800) out in spite of the limit being $15,000 per day and $25,000 per month. So I called them on Monda, and Wednesday, and Friday. What a waste of over 2 hours of my time. Twice I was told a manager would call me back and twice they failed to do so. This is ILLEGAL-it violates their funds availability policy and yet they can't seem to fix it. I offered them a simple solution, overnight me a check at their expense-I can only presume they don't even know how to do that! I truly don't think they even care. BOTTOM LINE: DO NOT PUT YOUR MONEY IN THIS FRADULENT BANK!!! P.S. I am sorry to admit that I am enjoying seeing how much of their time I can waste due to their incompetency. Awful bank. They use the most useless appraisers you can imagine. There are numerous factual errors. Their appraisal process is horrible. When pointed out, they will defend their blunders. This is a click bait company. Don't get fooled by the rates they offer. You will never get them. Do yourself a favor and stay away from them. My experience with third federal bank ,I apply for a pre-approval letter with my daughter,the loan officer assign to us ,was not really very professional,she did not help or give us advice on anything,no communication on what we needed since the beginning.Review from An K

Requested heloc for new roof and to pay off some debt. Excellent credit and over 300k equity. Given impression if debt paid off would be approved, but few days later denied. Never able to talk to underwriter like previous mortgages to help move it forward. We have bought 9 houses in past with no issue and this was very poor experience. Seemed like person communicating with us didn't really know what was happening in background. Poor interoffice communication. Would not recommend this bank to anyone looking for mortgage or equity.Review from Ma K

Very Disappointed. Called in to ask about income requirements and was told I would qualify. I asked for them to double check due to not wanting to hard hit my credit and was reassured. Company's representative called back literally laughing at me denying my application and quoting the incorrect data for my income amount. The intake representative that I worked with told me I had nothing to worry about before it went to underwriting or having a hard credit pull. Now my credit score has suffered because of their check.
