I hve been trying to pay my rent since December 3rd to avoid the late fee. I tried to make a payment of $720 on 12.3.24. I have an email from the *************** which says payment received.

When I checked my account, nothing had been deducted. Then I received an email from the property manager at my apartment  from ****** ******, at ***************************************************.  The email said  said: "This letter is to inform you that your check payment has been returned  by your financial institution for non sufficient funds nsf. The current balance on your account is $770 and due immediately to avoid legal action. Remit payment via your CheckFree card.. For questions regarding this, please contact your financial institution or contact me at ************."

I called my bank, and they advised me that West5Group had not cashed or attmepted to cash the check. So, I tried to pay online again, and received another email saying the check was being returned for insufficient funds.

She charged me $50 for each attempt I made to pay my rent online.

This morning I went into the office, and I spoke with ******. I asked her why I kept getting insufficient funds notices. She said to contact my bank, I told her I had and they don't know why I'm getting insufficient fund notices. She said I will have to use their Checkfree card for all future payments. It costs $20 a month to load money on the card.

This has nothing to do whether I have the money in my account to pay the rent. She is doing this as retribution because I have spoke out about the removal of teh machines from our laundry unit. But we have been without a laundry unit for four months as they took all of the machines out. The laundry is part of our lease. It's costing a lot of money and time to use a public laundromat.  I have to get an **** to get there as I don't have a car.
